Ok, well there's a movies board and a TV shows board but there isn't a theater board so I wanted to know if people like the theater and if so what are some of the best plays that you have seen? My favorite was actually one that I saw at my school called Private Eyes. It was about two actors who are married and the husband is paranoid that his wife is cheating on him and you never actually know if what he fears is true or not. It's a really good play.
The first play that I was ever involved with was Anything Goes at my high school. It's a musical and takes place on a ship. I loved working on the set and working the spotlights during the show. That play is what started my love of the theater.
Does anyone else have experiences like that? What was the first play that you saw?
Edit: Does anyone even like theater? I can't be the only one...

It's tons of fun to see a life person acting! I went to a couple with the school and participated in a couple of plays our theater group in school put together. Life action is always more fun! I would have never believed anybody who'd told me that you can put on a great show with a few costumes (OK, a lot) and a couple of tables, chairs and ladders. But it turned out *Our Town* is a great play to put on! I like Opera as well but I can't find any near by I would want to see.

Oooh, I <3 theatre, though I've only seen a few on Broadway...Cats and Wicked (I saw this twice). They both were so awesome...anywho, I really want to see Phantom of the Opera too, but like, Broadway is expensive.

Techinically this would belong under books. Theatre is often read. I live in NY, theatrical capitol of the universe. Best production i ever saw: Avenue Q. Tomorrow i am going to see "Spring Awakening" on broadway, and next month "Spamalot" www.highfivetix.orgTeenagers get theatre tickets for $5. Sometimes they even have on-broadway productions. Super awesome. Im pretty sure its New York only though.

I love theater. I don't really live anywhere close to New York, though, so I've only seen a few shows, and only one of them was in NYC (Rent). I've also seen My Fair Lady in London and Les Miserables. I'm seeing Wicked next month and Les Mis again in April.
^ Kaneda, you'll have to post here what you thought of Spring Awakening. I didn't really think anything of it, until I heard people saying that they really loved it. Now they've kind of got me interested. I'd love to know if you liked it.

I love Wicked, too, though its definitely not my favorite show. I'm excited that I'll finally be able to see it after years of only having the cast recording. I've seen/heard a few bootlegs of it, but that's not the same as really seeing it.

I live in Indiana and just turned 20 so I can't get the $5 tickets anymore. Have fun seeing the plays!

That makes me laugh. Not the fact the you're stuck with Grand Ole Opry but that you blink a lot to miss it. You should start doing your own plays. Just get a bunch of friends together, it's a lot of fun.
I love your second signature! So cute!

I can't act and can't sing for the life of me, so I'm playing in the pit orchestra for my high school's musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie.
