Ok this film look really amazing: www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/apocalypto/apocalypto.movies.go.com/It is Mel Gibsons's next try at directing and it is looking real good and appears to have done a real good job with this. "As the Maya kingdom faces its decline, the rulers insist the key to prosperity is to build more temples and offer human sacrifices. Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), a young man chosen for sacrifice, flees the kingdom to avoid his fate."

I heard it was a really violent movie. Really Mel could you cut the violence out just this one time?

It's supposed to actually be pretty good. NEVER trust the paper, I say it's biased.

I say don't judge the film by the person who has film it, judge the film itself, if you did judge the film by the person who filmed it there would be quite a few good films you would miss. Like if it was a film done by a new director and would not go to see it because you did not know him/her then it becomes a number one hit. I am looking past what Mel did and seeing this film because it looks really amazing and well filmed, plus I am here nothing but good things about it and love ancient history.

I saw it! It's pretty good, basically a action/chase movie (the last hour of the film is a chase scene). It has some really good camera work and is overall a great movie. And the time period is just around the end of the Mayans
**Spoiler** the spainish come near the end of the movie

I got to see it on Thursday, the day it came out over here. A truly amazing film, yup sure it is violent but that is the way things were back then. It is filmed in a very cool way, the camera work is really cool, the fight scenes are well done and the chase is breath taking!!! I am sooooo going to be getting this on DVD ;D!!!
So for all them people who do not want to see this film because of what Mel did, you are really missing out on something good.
