Seeing as Iroh is the most awesome guy in the show, it is obvious that he is always right. So the advice he gave Aang is the absolute truth ^_^ (Yes I was being sarcastic)
We don't know what's going to happen and the longer we wait for season Three the longer I'm going to get confused about the whole 'Charkra thing'

I remember reading somewhere that Iroh's views are Taoist while the Guru's compares to Hinduism. I can see why they'd make it so that Aang has to "let go" of Katara, but I don't know where they're going to lead their relationship. I still believe that the AS was destroyed in some form or the other. Or, that could be my biased shipper self trying to find a way for Aang and Katara to be together.

I don't really know who is right.....Iroh or the Guru...but I'm going with Iroh because to me, that Guru seemed to be a little off his wagon....if you catch my drift......

It was all that Onion & Banana Juice. I'm going with Iroh on the whole Avatar State ordeal. I don't think that conversation he had with Aang would just be added there to fill space in the episode. The Guru is just going with his beliefs, and Iroh is going with his. Let's just see what happens in season 3.

*Sigh* I couldn't agree with you more.
Okay! I don't have a DT so for this not to be considered spam, here's a drabble I wrote last night concerning Katara and Aang's relationship. If you guys would like to read more, then head over to the fanfiction thread to read my other drabbles from the collection "The Space Between". Hope you guys like it!
Rescue/Save/Protect:
The nature of their relationship wasn't as complex as many believed. Katara was his rock, and Aang was her pillar of hope. She was his protector, and he was the choosen one -- the one to bring back peace and balance to the world. Not many believe it, but there are times when Aang secludes himself from the world. He loves it dearly, and she knows this better than anyone, but as she discovered earlier than most, he's human. He cries, he bleeds, he feels pain. So she rescues him by helping him carry that weight, and saves him from the burden of holding something so heavy.
There are times when Katara feels low and hopeless. Aang notices right away, and runs to her. He holds her when she cries, holding back his own tears out of her suffering. He rescues his beloved, and saves her from having to cry on her own. She tells him that it'll be okay, and that she'll never leave his side. He tells her the same, and that no matter what misfortune comes along, he will help her see the wealth around her. They protect each other, and that was their relationship for as long as anybody could remember.

Going back to a post made by yesterday about Katara's response determining the fate of Kataang, at this point, and until we know more in season 3, I'd say the fate of Kataang hinges on both of them IMO, I doubt it will remain this way for long, but up unitl the season 2 finale, the letting go issue, until Aang understands what was truly meant, may cause a bit of hindrance, especially if Katara does reciprocate his feelings and Aang fears that he cant return them. Sokka: I like that drabble. I'll karma when my hour expires.

Sokka: Yeah....I love that drabble....... Now to Power's topic: I would feel majorly bad for both Aang and Katara if they couldn't love each other the way they should be allowed to......I would probably start crying or something if Aang couldn't return Katara's feelings when really he loved her the same way just because he was the avatar......

Yeah, I would think so. We're not even sure if the "letting go" issue means what we think it means. It could have a whole different meaning and we won't know it until it's stated in season 3. That scenario with Aang not knowing what it truely means and tells Katara that even though she loves him back they can't be together seems like a big possibility in my book to happen. Katara would probably be willing to be with Aang in some way, but he would probably dismiss it and say that there is no other way. Ehh, I hope that made sense I'm out of it this morning. xD Thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it. I'd feel really bad too. I'm a total sap and if they can't be together, I'd probably cry or feel heartbroken. I guess we better start stacking the tissue to prepare for that confrontation if it happens.

Come to think of it, that just makes the evolution of their relationship have more robustness to it. Imagine this my Kataangs, they are fighting the war with a good cause, but yet their hearts are yearning to be together, because even though they cant be together because of blah blah, it just makes the tension increase, keeps us interested, until that tension relieves itself. Trust me *forgive my endless positive optimism* If Katara does realize she loves Aang more than a friend, they are not going to be able to stave off their feelings for very long. They may believe they cannot be together, but sometimes fulfilling destinies has rewards. Sokka *karma

Oh yes! I definately agree that that's going to be the case for their relationship. The whole AS and everything else in between is just conflict. The bigger the conflict, the sweeter the victory will be when they overcome it. Let's just hope when they accomplish their destinies it'll give them a nice little reward. *Karma for you. My hour ended already when I finished this post*

One thing I love about their relationship and the possible conflicts that may come, it's so lifelike that it's like you can actually feel the hurt, the pain, the joy, and most especially, the love.
Fret not Aang, it may be stinging us a bit when we see the conflicts, but it will just like Iroh told Aang, you can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you keep going, you will come to a better place.

power: Yup, that's one of the many things that I love about their relationship. It feels real and gradual. They've had two seasons full of development and their bond has grown stronger than any bond I've ever seen. Aang & Katara's relationship, whether it stays platonic or grows into a romantic one, is a special one. I won't fret, because I know whatever comes their way they'll just keep going and hopefully find that better place for the world, and for themselves. @firefists: Love conquers all indeed! We may be romantic saps but hey! you can't really blame us. xD I hope there'll be a way for them to end up together. *crosses fingers*

^^*crosses fingers with Aang* Yes....we can only hope for the best. But if they don't work out romantically, then I guess they can still be friends. I would much rather see them in a romantic relationship though.....
