o.O Whoa.... XD nobody knows when Season 3 will start. But I think it's supposed to have Maiko in it, according to Mike & Bryan. Well, they hinted at it, or something.

Hinted, or practically confirmed. Same difference. Either way, I can't wait!

Neither can I!
Isn't the new season supposed to start in September or something? That's what I heard.

-In turn, I officially don't have any topic on Maiko. It's like we tore through every page in our minds to think of stories, plots, and sequels; and sometimes we end up repeating ourselves. It's becoming difficult for us Maikos. Despite this, we stay strong for Maiko, the most controversial shipping in Avatar. Neither can I! Isn't the new season supposed to start in September or something? That's what I heard. -It was never confirmed that it would launch in September, although it's likely that it's their starting point. I hope we do hear something officially sometime during the summer. Let's not jinx it. -By the way; isn't it about time we plan a new Maiko thread or do we have to wait until we hit the "100" mark?

September... October... something like that. Though there has been a rumor recently that Nick is airing the 1-hour season premiere in July and waiting 'til fall to air the rest, but I have no idea how much, if any, truth there is to that.
*cough* Why exactly is Maiko the most controversial ship in Avatar? I thought that would be either Kataang or Zutara, considering all the ship wars there have been in the past.

I always thought Zutara was the most controversial ship. Seeing that it has the most shippers, but is still (most likely) not going to happen. Maiko is controversal seeing that no one wants to admit it's going to happen

Hmm, I think Zutara is the most controversial ship mostly because it’s been around longer. With both Maiko and Zutara people either hate with the passion of a thousand suns or love with all their heart though. Maiko is controversal seeing that no one wants to admit it's going to happen Indeed. Also, I’ve noticed that more shippers seem to be hopping on Maiko with the hints from the staff and everything. You think that’ll continue once it happens plays out in canon?

Strangely enough, I halfheartedly like Zutara, and I'm not quite as into Maiko as I used to be. But that's probably just AWS.
I certainly hope so. It kills me to see all these people say they're so dedicated to [insert ship here] that they'll quit watching Avatar if another ship happens. I'm glad some people seem to be accepting canonity as opposed to arguing against it, and I hope more fans will do the same in the future. ^.^

^I know, I hate when people get so obsessed with their ship, that they'd just stop watching the show if their ship doesn't become canon. Sure, if Zutara became canon (which it probably won't, but still), I'd be upset and disappointed, but I'd still watch the show, since Aang mastering the elements and defeating Ozai is the most important thing.

Is it me or when I mentioned the term "controversial", this thread started speeding up a bit? ^^ 'Love making a difference. I always thought Zutara was the most controversial ship. Seeing that it has the most shippers, but is still (most likely) not going to happen. Maiko is controversial seeing that no one wants to admit it's going to happen -Yeah, I guess you're right, Zutara is commonly considered more controversial than Maiko, mainly toward their more radical fan-base who tend to insult Kataang and Maiko alot. -I should change my statement then, I guess. Maiko isn't really controversial, but perhaps the most Criticized shipping in Avatar. -Tis' true! Many don't want it to happen because they constantly want to see Maiko as Taboo. But Taboo is hot drama, just look at Steven Hyde and Jackie Burkhart. -And my "Maiko Comfort" picture, that picture seemed to help too, just read those supportive comments throughout the second page. ^^

Actually, you know, Zutara was the reason I kinda started supporting Maiko (before the adorablness of Zuko Alone, then I was converted for life). I've been Kataang from the start and while some Zutara stuff is good, most of it wasn't.... and I was getting tired of Zuko being paired with the happy sunshine characters (Song, who isn't really but still.... Jin, so on and so forth).... then comes Mai, totally different from the mold, and I was hooked.
.... That made absolutely no sense, eh?

I think it made sense. I started to ship Maiko after 'Return to Omashu.' But then (before I was a member and before I knew anything about fandom) I was looking around this site and saying that Mai only smiled because she liked to watch him squirm as a little kid and stuff. I kind of thought about it for a while, but then after 'Zuko Alone' aired, I was also hooked. I think the Zutara shippers kind of turned me off to Zutara. Not too much on this site, but on others. Even though I didn't really like it anyway, the fandom kind of....made it worse. I too liked Maiko because Mai was so different from the other girls he is paired with. Or mabye it was just that I was tried of all this, "Oh, she can heal Zuko's physical and emotional scars!" or "Zuko needs a nice girl who shows him the side of good" and such. So mabye a small part of the reason why I ship Maiko is just to spite the majority of the fandom.

I like Maiko for a lot of reasons. I ship Kataang and Maiko and I would be very disappointed if they didn't happen. That's why I pick the ships that are bound to happen. *cough*kataang*cough* I definately wouldn't stop watching though. That's a bit outrageous.

I used to ship Zutara and one of the reasons I don’t anymore, or maybe the main reason, is because most of the fans tick me off terribly. Yeah, the main reason I see Maiko working is because Mai wouldn’t try and fix Zuko. She would listen and care for him, because she’s at least had a crush on him for a number of years, but not try to push him into "the beautiful prince he always meant to be". As a bonus Zuko could be good for Mai because he can teach her to "feel" (he is the thing she’s shown most interest in after all).
