We also need a Maiko Stealthy Ninja...otherwise known as yours truly. XD You can't have a Shipper gang without a ninja. Oh, here are some other important points--they both want to rise above their current stations in some way or another, and they both have younger siblings that get all the attention because of their skills/cuteness. Two more things these fellows have in common. 1. I was a Ninja, but I've hung up my pyjamas for the time being. 2. What guys? I've gotten lost...

I think theweasleyboys meant Mei and Zuko, though I don't think Mei has a sibling... oh wait, almost forgot Tom-Tom there. Okay, now I understand what she was saying.

Since I'm on board I should post more in here. To answer the question it's pretty hard to imagine someone Iroh wouldn't like you know? But if Zuko cared about her Iroh would want to be friends with her and such. Another thing I have seen used against Maiko is this that Mai is to emo and bored for Zuko. They think Zuko should be with someone happier. What do my fellow shipmates think? My two cents is yes it would be nicer if Zuko was with someone cheerful but Mai can be pretty cheerful herself. She's is somewhat cheerful when Zuko is around or is the discussion topic. Also I think Zuko being with a really cheerful person would throw off his serious nature a bit. Here is another question but this one is rather pointless. How many kids do you think they would have? I can't really see them having that many but I think Zuko would want a kid to prove he is a better father than his father was and we also have to take into the fact that they need a heir. So I could only see three kids at best. So um discuss I suppose.*slinks away*

They kind of need to meet up with each other, Mai join Zuko, flirt,go on a date, become girlfriend/boyfriend, get engaged, get married, and NOT be on Nickelodeon before they can even think about thinking about having even one kid.
Please, do not consider this trolling. I did not mean to be and am sorry if it is. I would happily have it removed if it is considered this way. ;D

They'd probably have 1 or 2 kids, though I could see 3 possibly... I dunno.
Eh, I'd like to see Zuko with someone more cheerful, but not too cheerful. Also, if Mai's ONLY cheerful when Zuko's around or is the subject of conversation, that could mean that once she's used to Zuko being around, she could go back to her old personality.
As I've said before, Maiko could really work; I could really see it. However, I am not sure as to how long the relationship would last.

But it could also mean Mai could grow more into her true personality, right? ^^ Sure; not much may excite Mai, but if someone exciting to her is around her, it may allow her to see the world can be an exciting place in more areas than one! Since in love, you learn to better yourself in some ways, and love yourself even more.^^ *I thinks?* I think any realationship Zuko enters can last, the majority of time. ^^;; He's...pretty last-y...yeahs...@_@ Then again, we haven't seen Mai enough to know what else excites her. She could be cheerful, and we just haven't seen it yet. *Or not* Que sera sera...

I'm still not able to add anything intelligent to the conversation. XD though I have to say, I did have a nightmare about Iroh and Mei. I'm still trying to banish it to the dark corners of my subconciousness.

I think Zuko would make a good father. Just because I get the feeling he would want to be good to his son and be to him what his father wasn't. I think they would probably have one boy and two girls. That's what I'd want if I was a father/Zuko.

I’ve already argued extensively on the Mai thread against Mai being “emo” since emo is all about sekrit pain and being melodramatic and emotional and Mai is the exact opposite of emotional, so I won’t get into that again.
As far as her not being a cheerful person, I always find that as a weird argument against Mai/Zuko since...really, I can’t imagine an incessantly cheerful person doing anything but getting on Zuko’s last nerve. I know people like to imagine some bright, personable, cheery girl dragging sullen Zuko out of his shell and into having fun etc. but, realistically, Zuko is just a focused and serious kind of guy. We know he loves his uncle, but when have we ever seen him react with anything but aggravation at Iroh's cheerfulness and optimism? I think even if all of the major things that are upsetting him right now were solved he would still, at his core, be a focused and generally serious kind of guy. Which is not a bad thing because, hey, he does need to run a whole country. That’s serious business.
And while when Mai seems to be patently unhappy in present time, we know that being near Zuko has a very good chance of making her happy and a happy!Mai (while I still think that she will always have a certain amount of calm, coolness to her no matter what) might be a great match for Zuko. We can’t know since we haven’t seem them interact in present time. Though we have seen Mai in the past where I would say she was far more bored than unhappy. And really maybe she just doesn’t like cartwheeling any better than Zuko does! Not to mention, you might be displeased too if you had to hang around with Azula.
So, I guess what I’m saying is that the outlook that Mai must ALWAYS be unhappy, etc. is a little myopic since we’ve seen her in so few situations, plus, we’ve seen her look notably happier at mention/sight of Zuko.
I see them with one, but I do think that in the interests of the kingdom they’d want to have more. But at the same time I kinda feel like Zuko might not want more than one child because I see him wanting to dote on and lavish all of his attention and care (to compensate for what his father didn’t give him) on one unsuspecting target. I also think he might be very wary with regard to sibling rivalries.
And as an addendum, I’ve claimed Mai at the 1character challenge on LiveJournal (which is where you have 50 themes and you write a single sentence for each theme) and I really liked my sentence for the first theme so I decided to share on this thread where I know that someone likes Mai:
*
Snow
Because she is standing alone on the deck when the fat, white flakes begin to melt in her hair and cling to her eyelashes, she opens her mouth and catches a few on her tongue; by the time the eyes of the crew fall on her, she is already heading back to her cabin, well-used to feigning an absence of wonder.
*
I really wanted to do 50 sentences for Mai/Zuko, but someone claimed it a while ago. Woe.

^ You can do it for us. You are an excellent writer and I look forward to more stories from you. ^.^
Well, just to write something, I'll talk about my musings on Mai:
When I first saw her, on the screenshots taken by someone before the official airing of Return to Omashu, I couldn't decided if it was a he or a she. XD Of course when I found out she was er... she, well, I thought, what a unique looking face. I'm not sure about western standards, but by Asian standards, Mai is not pretty. In fact, if I may say so, she is toeing the fine line between unique and ugly. But that's what I love about her; she's not cookie cutter pretty, and if she does end up with Zuko, it'll be something interesting, rather than having him end up with an accepted pretty girl. Also, like what others have stated before, notably Gotterdammerung, she doesn't have a cookie cutter personality either. What I found interesting was that she progressed from cute, shy love-struck chibi girl to a pessimistic young woman. I want to know what happened for her to change like that. Perhaps life got too boring without Zuko around... heheh...
One thing I was thinking about was that the creators seem to put in a lot more effort in Mai rather than Ty Lee. I mean, Ty Lee is nice, pretty, cute... all not very interesting, compared to Mai. I think it shows that they have more things planned for her... I just can't wait till Zuko meets Ozai's Angels. XD
