Name: Kasei (Fire Star/ Mars)
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Nation: Fire-Nation
Bender?: No.
Kenjutsu- Nitoujutsu (Using Two Swords)
Life:
(history)
Kasei is like every other eighteen year-old boy of the Fire Nation, propaganda is bred through him, leaving no chance for him to believe his side is ‘wrong’. Being from one of the higher families, (not all the way of course, but decently enough to have comfortable life) he went to the academy as a kid learning the ways of the world, or what they allowed him to see.
He was a bright scholar, not top of the class but he does well enough with decent grades. The thing is he doesn’t really want to focus on it that much, if only he applied himself more he could be exceptional- but he doesn’t what to be exceptional. He wants to succeed in his own way. His way.
Starting off as a little kid he would train with his dad, they would run together, practice fighting together and so forth. Kasei was in shape because of these younger years, he was strong, good endurance. The Fire Nation kid was a natural with swords, his favorite were the broad swords that he used. He always kept those two at his side- they were his life line. Of course he had a couple throwing knives too and a knife his dad gave him, but either than that he had nothing but his fist.
Kasei couldn’t fire-bend.
Sadly that gift was never blessed upon him and he went to the academy with this hopelessness but pushed it aside and decided to become great at what he could- any sharp weapon he could find. They fascinated him anyways, and that’s how he found himself here, in the Army.
Appearance:
(Physical Appearance/ Weapons/Armor)
The youth is rather well built from his training since a little kid, he’s fit with good endurance. He’s average height as well, pretty much the same height as everyone else- nothing exceptional. Black hair covers hi said and is pulled back sleekly in a ponytail a much as possible in these times, sometimes a strand or two of ebony black hair acting as a band. His eyes are an amber-goldish color.
Kasei personally prefers clothing of black or red that are comfortable and allow him to move and fight, nothing that constricts him, disallowing his body of free movement. Most of the time though he wears the Fire-Nation Army uniform, which pleases him well enough. Its his favorite colors and allows him to move still- good enough for him.
At his right side he carries his two broad swords, his specialty, his life line. He has had these as a kid and plans on keeping them, a gift from his grandfather. He also has some throwing knives as well and a knife from his family.
Personality:
Well Kasei can be a good true friend once you get to know him, however before that it can not always work out. He keeps to himself a lot and doesn’t want others to slow him down at all. He can be a little rude at times, but hopefully someday he can overcome this thing of his youth. He isn’t fond of other benders or nations, the way his school taught about them they seem so repulsive though he has actually never met an ‘outsider’ before… Will they hold up to these expectations? He is also a dash sexist, ‘cause everyone knows guys can do anything a girl can by ten-fold. This is his logic, and girls shouldn’t get involved in such things as war, they should stay at home doing, well, whatever it is they do.
IC:
Kasei kneeled down next to the river after finishing his daily run, sweat dripping down his four head as he placed his hand in the cool water. He smiled slightly washing off his face with the cool water from the river-bed, taking a sip from it as well. He enjoyed these days, the ones where he could train by himself with out any distractions, just nice self improvement with out any distractions. Especially his neighbor, Kisa Oka.
However he thought too soon, coming out of the clearing was the girl, dressed in a nice red as she smiled seeing him. Slowly she walked over waving a hand, “Hey Kasei, do you wanna play a game with us?” The fellow 12 year-old asked, smiling slightly.
“I’m training, I don’t have time to play with a girl.” He said, shaking his said smirking slightly. “Anyways if its just you guys I would obviously win, there would be no competition.”
The girl stomped her foot with frustration, “Why do you always have to be this way?”
She narrowed her eyes slightly as she waited for a reply, the amber balls seeming to glow in the sun as she waited. “Because those are the ways of the world, I actually do something useful.” The pre-teen scoffed slightly.
“Fine, I’m sorry I asked.” The girl said getting up to leave, kicking some of the dirt as she did so. “You can’t firebend so I don’t see why you even try anyways.” The girl said leaving, dissatisfied with the results.
Second IC
(On how he got his sword, fighting style, andfamilies general feelings. This is my first post for The War of Four)
Kasei sat by a tree, wiping his face off with a sleeve before taking out a small container, opening the top up. Taking a sip the youth breathed in deeply as his heart rate slowed and he placed the container away, back to his side.
He did this daily, woke up earlier than most of the others before grabbing a very quick bite and doing his daily routine. He would stretch, run a couple miles, and then practice his with his swords for a while. He tried to add in some time with his throwing knives as well, though they were more of a secondary thing.
He used his dual broadswords, or the Dao, to fight. This weapon is usually made out of bronze or steel and evolved from a regular cooking knife. Interesting the youth always thought about his weapon of choice, he had had them most his life, acquiring them from his grandfather.
His family wasn’t very pleased with his fire bending ability, the one that wasn’t there, though they wouldn’t believe it for quite some time. His grandfather finally convinced them that was the way of life and it was out of control, something greater was destined for him- Kasei didn’t really believe this, but it was hopeful. Thus he received his swords from his grandfather who spent a majority of his time teaching him technique.
The swords gave him hope and helped overcome his own disappointment and his father finally approved, seeing that his first born son was not a complete disappointment. His mother seemed pleased too, she would smile when seeing him practice. Kasei took this all as slight approval.
The throwing knives were merely something some family member gave him as a gift a couple years ago though. He wasn’t overly good, but had well enough aim to hit an object with them.
He realized it was actually getting early enough for others to be up and hurried off back to where the soldiers stayed, he would have to see if they had any particular jobs at the moment. Not too many people knew of his Swordsmanship in the army as of yet, he only joined a couple weeks at most ago. He was a little higher than some of the average soldiers, but he didn’t fully reveal his mastery of swords yet.
He got back and looked around, it didn’t seem they really had any jobs as of yet- that was a good thing for now. Recently he was thinking if the army was really for him, he loved to help his nation and such but it cut into his training quite a bit too, oh well. He would succeed, he would make sure of it. He would prove himself to the others.
Ooc: I hope this is right, I never did an Avatar Role-play before. Tell me if anything needs to change I typed this really fast on the spot for the Mass Role-play. -nods-
