Name:Oka Shounen
Age:15
Gender:Male
Nation:Earth
Bender?:Oka performs earthbending for peace of mind, meditation, and also uses it almost daily around the farm.
Appearance:Oka's dark brown hair passes his ears by a few inches, and would hinder his vision if it did not curve outward like it does, and is thrown to the left of his face. His hair is an even length all around, but looks shorter in some areas due to curls.
Oka's eyes are a deep hazel that are perfectly straight, having not even the slightest tilt to them, an uncommon trait among his people. He has his father's nose, an average sized nose with a slight hump in the middle of it.
Even though Oka works on the farm most of the day, he isn't very tan. His skin color sits in the line between tan and pale.
He does not have a very bulky build, rather he is quite lean. His leanness probably comes from being vegetarian, which he never hears the end of from his mother. This boy stands at around 5 feet 9 inches and weighs approximately 129 pounds.
Oka Shounen wears simple garbs. His green, silken shirt have sleeves, that are just short of reaching his elbows. His pants, also made of silk, have no design to them, and stop at the middle of his calves. He loves the feeling of the soil between his toes, and the feeling of warm air gracing his feet, and for this reason he does not wear shoes. Oka is somewhat obsessed with tea, and from always being outdoors he finds a large variety of herbs and spices he can use. He carries these herbs in a pocket on the inside of his shirt.
Personality: Oka Shounen is introverted, this normally gives people the impression he is shy. When it comes down to it though, he just doesn't bother talking to people unless they seem worth talking to. He gets very annoyed by people not opening their minds to greater things than what meets the eye. Oka is kind at heart, and is very open to others' beliefs and ways of life.
He loves to explore the woods around his small Earth Kingdom village, and hopes to one day explore the rest of the world. Oka disagrees with the war, and hopes that one day peace can be restored. He finds violence a very primal way of solving things. He still cannot understand why humans, even if they have differences, would want to bring harm upon another.
More than once, Oka's family has gone searching for him in the forest when he does not return after dark. They will normally find him sleeping near his favorite spot, a waterfall a few miles into the forest.
Background:Oka Shounen was brought into this world by Kiana and Okmoro Shounen. He has an older brother Hurah, who is sixteen. Though his brother and father are very quiet, he respects them. For they can do something he cannot. Farm. Oka and his family own one of the largest farmsteads in their village. It is so successful , of course, because it is run by the two most outgoing, overachievers in the business, his brother and father. Oka does his chores, which include, but are not limited to, feeding the animals, plowing the earth, harvesting, and planting a variety of seeds, not with all the effort he can, but he does them.
Kiani Shounen, Oka's mother is the only family member he really talks to. She has an almost super natural understanding of life. He often thinks this is because of the death of his oldest brother, which he was too young to remember. Oka is unsure how his brother died, because none of his family seems to ever want to talk about it.
From the ages of four to twelve, Oka attended a school of earthbending, arithmetics, geography, and world history. Oka liked most of his classes, and learned quickly, though he began to find it hard to attend every day, and was soon expelled. Oka did not dislike school, he just found it as the authority that stopped one from achieving true happiness. Oka's family were not happy of this "failure", but they did not punish or scold him. Oka kept progressing in earthbending by watching others preform.
The Shounens have lived in the small village of Kamura for centuries. He comes from a long line of warriors and farmers alike. Though being a warrior is not the path Oka sees fit for himself, and being a farmer is too dull. Not much is known of Oka himself, seeing he tends to be around animals and trees more than humans.
Kamura is a very proud village of earth benders. In fact, most of the villagers know at least the basics of earth bending. Stories have been told of long ago when Kamura was attacked by a large group of bandits. The bandits were surprised to see the large militia that this farming community held, and did not suspect to be bested by women carrying water and men bailing hay. Not everything is as it seems.
