Name: Huo Ryuu, (Fire Dragon) but everyone excepts for his parents call him either Huo or Ryuu, not both
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Nation: Fire
Bender?: Yes, Master
Appearance: Huo Ryuu’s appearance is an above average one, not too handsome that girls fall for him instantly, but he looks younger than he is and is far from being plain. Huo’s build is muscular, given his past and current occupations that demand a man of strength. He’s an impressive height of six feet and seven inches, which helps in his current occupation in the fear category. The structure of his face is not anything special, just a stern look that isn’t frightening, but commands respect. His nose is surprisingly strait, due to the fact that, while an assassin for the Fire Nation, it had been broken a total of three times by the targeted person or their body guard. Huo's hair is a shoulder length dark brown and is worn in a topknot protruding from the crown of his head. His hair stands in place because of a stiff piece of sewn leather died a dark red with Leachy nut dye. Huo has light skin like the rest of the Fire Nation. Huo's eyes are dark brown, and don’t portray emotions, he could be the happiest person in the world, and, if you looked at his eyes, you couldn’t tell.
Huo wears a simple dark red short sleeved shirt with crimson sleeves. The sleeves go to the middle of his biceps, and the shirt ends at the waist. He wares arm braces that run from just under mid arm length to his wrists, and match his sleeves. They fit snuggly, but don’t interfere with the skilled wrist movements used in combat. They are used to protect him from fire blasts and even swords or spears of the enemy. His pants match the dark red color of his shirt, and change to the crimson color at mid-calf. The pants begin several inches above the waist, and continue until the top of the foot. He wears the durable shoes given to him in his army days that have faded from their original black color to a dull gray.
Huo is skilled with broadswords, because of his military assassin job, and carries them for his current occupation. The handles are simple, dark red, and don’ t appear special, yet unscrew at the base, which has the insignia of the fire nation on the bottom, to reveal a chamber used to conceal blasting jelly. The blade is made from steal, a rarity, yet a necessity for a man who was an assassin, and are black in color. The sheath is brown and is worn across the back, for easy access.
Personality: Huo isn’t a person who you would normally call exceptionally caring and emotional. He does have a loyalty to his employer, and his friends from the Fire Nation Assassin Organization, as well as his girlfriend and does get emotional, mainly angry, when something happens to them. When he sees someone in need, he will generally help them, unless they are of the Earth Kingdom or Water Tribe, in which case he will walk past them, as he considers them lowly scum, a general view of the people in the fire nation. Death doesn’t bother him, although he doesn’t like to cause it if at all possible. Huo is somewhat overconfident in his skills and thinks highly of himself, which is one of the flaws he has. He can be quick to anger when someone insults him or his honor and has been know to lash out at them in a horrific display of firebending and sword work, which become more powerful with anger. He doesn’t gets jealous easily, even those who how have it super-good don’t cause this emotion. Huo’s become an expert with sarcasm, mocking the idiots, who don’t usually challenge him once they see the broadswords. He has never been married, and didn’t plan on it until he changed employment, he is wooing the fire nation woman who owns a clothing shop in New Ozai, and things are going fairly well.
History: Huo was born to the wealthy family of the fire nation, his mother came from a long line of heiresses, and his father made money by robbing the other rich folk, as well as a visible day job, that of an inventor and weapons specialist. His father supplied the army of the southern Fire Nation, under the command of General Fong, with weapons, and Fong’s special operation group with weapons fitting the assassins. He was their first and only child for many years, until he got a younger brother at the age of 15. He never was jealous of his brother, not that his parents gave him a reason to be, and was content to watch him while his father “stepped out” and his mother was out gabbing with the other wealthy wives. Huo lived happily in the moderately sized town, reserved for the moderately wealthy, until he left for the army, in a house with a kitchen, 12 rooms, 5 bedrooms, one of which remained a guest room. He spent most of his time training at Sheo’s firebending dojo, as he started at six, because his father planned him to go into the army, and received the lessons for free, due to his future involvement in the military. Due to his training, he didn’t have any friends, as he thought that all the other children were idiots, content on playing with toys, instead of training for the conquest of their mighty nation.
He continued his training, and become proficient at twenty, when his father asked Fong to accept him for the army. Fong then spent the next four years teaching Huo broadsword techniques, training Huo in agility and teamwork with other assassins, some of which became the only true friends he had ever had, hand to hand fighting, and the seventeen ways to kill a man with your bare hands.
During the first mission of the 25 he would be part of in his four years in the army, Huo forgot one of the most important rules of the job, take out the guards as quickly an quietly as possible. He went into the bedroom of his target, a low ranking, yet highly talented officer in the Earth Kingdom army, who had strategically defeated Fong’s army several times, and was on leave. Huo was prepared to make the kill, when he stepped on the pet cat-monkey, who let out a screech of pain and awoke the man, who upon seeing Huo, called for his guards, the first one rushed in from behind Huo and grabbed his swords. The other guard ran up to Huo and punched him in the nose, the first of the three times it had been broken. Huo then used his breath of fire to burn the first guard’s hands, he flipped over the guard, and re-took his swords, which were lying on the ground. When he looked up, the second guard caught him in the nose again. That made Huo angry, he leaped at the guard in a whirl of fire, swords parallel, and cut the guards hands off, as well as burning his forearms and slicing a gash into his chest, he then turned around while the first guard was still realing in pain and sliced the head off the second guard, he proceeded to eliminate his target using technique number 7 of the 17, as this man was one that needed to be killed in a non-decapitating manor and made his escape. Behind him, he heard the guard who he left alive shout that if he ever saw him again, he would do the same to Huo as Huo did to him. On that day, he decided to never marry as long as he was an assassin, as to keep anyone else out of danger.
He rejoined his comrades the next morning, some of who had been on missions too, and told them of his mission and how he had stepped on the Cat-monkey. After his tale, he went to the infirmary to fix his nose. There he saw one of his friends, a man by the name of Akio, had been injured by his target’s bodyguard and could not continue in the profession. Akio asked Huo to go back to his target, a larger, more heavily guarded area, and finish the job. Hou, being loyal, accepted the task, and after his nose had been set, he left for the target. This time, he eliminated the guards quickly, went in, and found his target. After compleating the mission, as a loyalty issue to his friend, he located the man who had injured Akio and killed him in a violent battle between Fire and Earth, it was spectacular, charred earth flying everywhere, large bursts of fire attacking the Earth Bender, and a slowly retreating Earth Bending guard. Huo pinned the guard into a corner, and, before finishing him, cried, “This is for Akio, the man who’s life you ruined, and for the Fire Nation, the Children of Fire, the Superior Element.” He then preceded to decapitate the guard and left.
During the next four years, he completed the other 24 official missions, as well as several for honor. His nose was broken the other two times by a piece of earth bended by a guard, and an assassin for the Earth Kingdom, who was targeting Fong.
He left the Army at 28, after completing the mandatory four years, to pursue a quest to become a master. He returned to Sheo’s dojo, and lived in his parent’s house, learning more techniques with his swords from his father. He took the job of a freelance assassin to pay for the lessons from Sheo, as well as a new outfits, all the same design and color.
He completed the training and became a master at the age of 36, and decided that being an assassin was to risky, and he was lonely, so he decided to pursue a new life in New Ozai as a bodyguard for the Governor and his family. On his first day there, he met the clothing shop owner, who was designing a dress for the Governor’s wife, and started a relationship with her. He currently lives in the Governor’s house, protecting them and dating the clothing shop owner, Hitomi.
