Don't be too harsh on me. This is my first fanfic and English is not my mothertongue, so I hope you guys don't bother bad grammar and spelling too much^^.
The setting: Sokka has been captured by the DaiLi and is now imprisoned in a cell in BSS. Implied Zutara.
Sokka of the Southern Watertribe. Son of Hakoda. Trapped by the FN and their DaiLi minions. Surely they would try to get valuable information out of him. After all he was one of their greatest enemies. The Avatars companion, guardian and, most importantly, advisor, they would torture him until he would talk, he had no doubt about it.
Then the cell door opened. He knew the face of this visitor well. It was the one, who was trying to jeopardize Aangs mission to begin with. He came alone. Sokka assumed that he didn’t want to share the fun of torturing him with his sister, her companions or the DaiLi.
In this moment he swore to himself that he won’t show any fear to Zuko no matter, what he would do to him. He won’t give his enemy the satisfaction, although he himself couldn’t deny that he was nervous thinking of what his captor would do in order to get the information about the Avatars whereabouts out of him. After all it was Zuko he was facing and Zuko never gives up.
As his enemy came closer he couldn’t hold back, but close his eyes in order to prepare himself for the pain he was expecting. He felt how tense his whole face has become, yet he felt nothing else. Where was the searing pain he expected from the interrogation?
Suddenly he heard the sound of chains falling on the floor and felt how the pain on his wrists eased as his handcuffs were removed.
Unbelieving Sokka looked down at the chains that were holding him in his prison. All of them were melted.
“What does this mean?” He asked sceptically.
His captor only gave him a cold look and threw a bundle of clothes in front of him. Sokka was still kneeing. He went through them and noticed that it was a DaiLi uniform.
“Take them on. You should be able to pass through the DaiLi in this town as one of my guards.” Zuko explained.
Sokka stood up to see Zuko right into his eyes.
“Why should I believe you? This is probably just one of your foolish plans to capture the Avatar. You never change do you? I won’t fall for it!”
Unexpectedly for Sokka, Zukos face softened. “I neither expect you to believe me, nor do I want your trust”.
“Good, because I really don’t want to disappoint you”” Sokka interrupted with something he considered very clever.
“She is your sister, right? The girl you are travelling with”
Sokka didn’t expect him to ask about Katara. Was that, what Zuko wanted? Information about Katara? “None of your business!” Sokka snapped at Zuko without thinking twice.
Now, he gave it away! He already could read in Zukos face, that he knew now for sure.
“She told me about your mother once.” Zuko explained.
Sokka was in furious. How could the son of the Firelord even dare to speak about his mother?
Sokka was already about to form a fist to fight Zuko, when suddenly Zukos hand grabbed his shoulder.
“She already lost a mother. I don’t want her to lose a brother too”.
The expression on Zukos face took Sokka absolutely off guard. It was the first time he saw compassion in his enemy’s eyes. Why did he care so much about her feelings? And why did it look like he would know, what they felt, when they lost their mother?
“Fine I do it! But don’t think that I owe you something now!” Sokka argued, while taking on the DaiLi uniform.
“You won’t, because you take my uncle with you.”
