Don't know if any of you have seen the show yet or not, but a new show debuted on the History Channel last Friday. Called Human Weapon, it's about these two American guys who go around, learning different native martial arts styles, and then challenging a master fighter to a battle at the end of each episode.
Now, for the fun part...I need everybody with access to this network to keep in eye out in case they happen to feature one of our favorite martial arts styles...Northern Shaolin kung fu, Hung Gar, Ba Gua, or Tai Chi. I mean, knowing that bending was inspired by real martial arts is on thing, but seeing real people do battle with "bending moves" would absolutely be beyond cool.
So, who can I count on to keep an eye out for this?

I'll ask my karate teacher. He watches History Channel all the time. It sounds like the kind of thing he'd want to see anyway.

Oh, I love that show. I'll do it, Sokkaroksya. I try to watch it every week anyway. I highly recommend it to any fans who like the martial arts aspect of avatar like me. I'm such a nerd for this I like practice the moves as they show them on tv. Anyway, I know they haven't done any of the Avatar styles yet. 7/20 was Muay Thai (sp?), 7/27 was Eskrima, and next week, 8/3, will be Karate.

I watch it every week so far, i wouldn't keep your hopes up on the kung fu stuff. Based on the styles they posted on their site they will have only 1 show for kung fu so i really doubt they'll go too in depth with any 1 style. More likely than not they'll focus on San shao since that's the prevalent form of combat "kung fu" in china
oh yeah i VERY much doubt they'll used any internal form of kung fu (ie ba qua or taichi) since it takes YEARS of training to use it effectively in a fight.

I really like Human Weapon because it shows the carious types of martial arts styles and I enjoy how they show exactly how to do a certain move.
