Most of [as] now is all poorly animated (or not animated) garbage. Shows like 12 oz mouse, squidbillies, awesome tim and eric show/tom goes to the mayor, stroker and hoop, Sealab 2021 aqua teen hunger force, perfect hair--the list of these epic failure shows goes on. The writing is mostly pure nonsense and the production looks like it cost a whopping combined total of thirteen dollars and twenty-six cents plus a RoseArt coupon.
The few original shows worth giving props to? I'd have to say are The Venture Bros., Robot Chicken and Morel Orel. The Boondocks (season 1) was amazing as well, but season 2 took so dang long I'm not even interested anymore.
I'm not giving them credit for shows like Futurama or Family Guy--mainly because those were ratings boosters and didn't revolve around the actual studio's creativity. Plus, practically every channel shows Family Guy--even TBS...come on now...
The anime used to be good. But again, their anime is just money milking and marketing contracts for them. They end up bypassing a lot of really good animes to just to appease the Shonen Jump crowd.

Only three channels show Family Guy... Fox, Cartoon Network, and TBS, so where you get 'practically everybody', CR, is way beyond me. Now, CSI and it's two spinoffs and the infinite Law and Order shows, on the other hand...
Also, to say that Adult Swim panders to the Shonen Jump crowd with only two shows that Viz Media has brought to the States, and one on the way, is a very narrow view. Big whoop, they show two shows brought Stateside by the same company on the same night. All the other anime they've ever shown and many they plan to in the future was brought here by other companies, so I don't feel they're pandering to the Shonen Jump crowd at all. Plus you have the fact that they've resumed showing anime only on Saturday night again...
Now then, I dislike most of [adult swim]'s original stuff. Really, I only like Robot Chicken. That's it. The rest is too nonsensical and/or poorly animated. Don't get me wrong, nonsense is king on Robot Chicken, but the rest of their original shows are just mindless, incoherent drivel.

Well they show Family Guy on the CW too, but that may be something that only happens around here...
For me, I'm a casual watcher. The animes must be followed somewhat, and if you missed a few episodes, your lost. Yes, you should be watching on the internet, but I'm just not that into it. Robor Chicken is great, some of the others are okay, Venture Brothers is good. Morel Orel was funny, but I can see how that wouldn't appeal to everyone. Tim and Eric is the worst thing ever to grace a TV set.

The Boondocks (season 1) was amazing as well, but season 2 took so dang long I'm not even interested anymore. It didn't take that long. Season 2 is quite good, although in my opinion it focuses too much on Riley and not enough on Huey. Not to mention, although it was present in Season 1, what's much more noticeable in Season 2 is the "is it racist of me to find that funny?" factor. It seems like Aaron McGruder makes fun of black culture more than in Season 1. As for anime, shows like Bleach and Inuyasha dont even belong on adult swim. I'm somewhat ok with alot of their comedy being mindless, but I dont want that leaking into the anime.

All I know is, I was a senior in high school when season 1 came out and I was a sophomore in college when season 2 came out... time gaps might be a little different for some than others...but I'm not waiting dang near 2 years to continue a TV show.
@nerull: My statements were meant to be over the top. Point is, Family Guy is has one of the biggest channel subscriptions on the network. My point is, watching [as] for Family Guy is a bit stretched these days. But whatever.
And Cartoon Network as a whole appeals to the Shonen Jump crowd. Perhaps I should have been more lucid. But alas, this is primarily adult swim we're talking about and the past several animes have not been good at all, imo. Then again, I'm extremely picky when it comes to good anime so, eh.
I agree with Kaneda in that Inuyasha and Bleach need to be on Toonami rather than Adult Swim. The only thing putting them beyond TV Y7 is the level of blood they show.

I remember when a robot used to read the viewer discretion warnings and when they showed old people swimming.

...I liked the old people Well don't look now, but if anyone here has been keeping an eye on the Saturday lineup as of late, Inuyasha now has 4, I repeat 4 episodes being showned on that night, as knowing to saying it is making the show overated I think I have myself some issues with Adult Swim, But here is the latest lineup changes, 11 PM ---- Iunyasha, 1130 PM - Inuyasha, Midnight - Bleach 1230 AM - Death Note 1 AM ------ Code Geass 130 AM --- Shin Chan 5 AM ------ Inuyasha 530 AM --- Inuyasha And this is on Saturday, reply back if you have any questions or comments on this.

They're still showing Inuyasha at 4 (CST) even though they started showing it at 10? I like Inuyasha, but that is a little over kill. Does anyone know what happened to FullMetal Alchemist? Has AS stopped showing it completely? Like, for real this time?
-Personally, Family Guy is the only show (with the exception of a few anime) that I like on Adult Swim. No offense to any Robot Chicken fans, but I don't like that show.

They don't do constant reruns of shows (excluding Inuyasha for who knows what reason) so FMA's probably off air for a little while.

^ Ah, I was so thinking about doing that. But I'd have to ask my parents and my mom hates ordering online...
