Maiko. I'm not as devoted to any Zuko ship as I am to Kataang, but Maiko seems to be the only possible Zuko ship at the moment; I would give Zujin a good second, and Soko for the third, if he runs away. But Zutara is fanon, so it's just not happening. Do you have proof that it's not happening? No. It's *unlikely* Zutara will happen. Very unlikely, I'll give you that, but it doesn't mean it won't or is impossible. @nietzche: I can actually agree with that. I've always thought that there would be hints leaning to one, but that the creators would just never make a finite pairing and leave it to the imaginations of their fans. But apparently, the magazine revealed either Zutara or Kataang is happening. taiyo *on limited hiatus*: Well...I just can't see it in Katara's character never to ever forgive Zuko for something *if* he changes. I'm not saying she'll forget. Of course she won't. I doubt she forgot Jet's betrayal, but she forgave him. Katara is capable of forgiving Zuko, he's just got to give her a reason to.

Dangit. I'm starting to hate shipping.
But are there any scans of the magazine? Seriously, I don't know that everyone's talking about. I need to see it.

Do you want the Maiko comic too? I can dig up the link to it on scans_daily.

I agree. Beside that was only the first episode, they've got plenty of episodes for more scenes (People are really fooling themselves thinking it's only going to last for a few episodes and then never be heard from again)

@paraiba Ocean: True. It ties with the "forgive but never forget saying".

I don't think I've seen a lot of people claim Mai and Zuko are going to have a fling for two episodes, break it off and pretend it never happened. Of course, depends on where you look, too...and I rarely drift from DH

I don't see how Mai didn't care: she told him not to worry and kissed him. Zuko was worrying for things neither he nor Mai had control about. What else could have been done?

That's funny because i've seen plenty of people claim it.

I haven't seen that much of it and I'm more inclined to think they were saying it wouldn't last, not that it's never going to be heard of again. Just because it doesn't last doesn't mean it won't be heard of again.

I've always been curious (and asked but never received an answer) about whether there is a statute of limitations on Mai/Zuko's not lasting. Like at what point will it no longer be considered clearly shortlived?
Five episodes in? Ten? 2/3 of the way through the season? Right up until the final three episodes?

Hm...I never really thought it would be short-lived, but I suppose saying it won't last could imply that.
After a few episodes (maybe around 4 or 5), I won't consider it short lived. But I guess it depends on personal preferences...however...if it's something like 8 episodes or more, that's pushing it, IMO.
