Toph. I say they compliment each other really nicely. Tough girl and nice guy, heaven and earth.
And also because I once had an image of Aang freefalling through the sky (for fun, because we know Aang likes extreme skydiving) while she clutches at him, screaming for dear life. That would make a cute scene IMO.
I wouldn't mind him with Katara, though ("good guy gets girl he loves/likes" logic). I just find Toph more interesting for him.

I think him and Toph would be cute together. I mean, Katara is 14 and he's only 12. They both need some1 they're own age. That way, they have some1 that can communicate on their maturity level.

... *pokes* Hey! Where's Zuko in this poll?! XD
I guess I'm going to vote Katara. Mainly because I don't think Taang is going anywhere >.> Plus Kataang is so sweet!

I'm going to play devils advocate and you all could throw cabbages at me for saying this but IMO I feel Aang shouldn't be romantically involved with anyone.
Now that's not indicating that he should be alone in the world because no matter what he will always be filled with the love of the people who believe in him and those who are his only family- The aang gang. Not only a Monk, Aang is also the chosen Avatar(Spiritual Leader) and so has to reach nirvana-the state where all human desires are not a burden that chain you to the Earth. This doesn't deprive him of all love in the world but unfortunately he must let go of his "worldly desires."

Aang seems to be the only Avatar with a "team." He has learned the value of having people support him, he has learned the value of accepting that he has weaknesses and the strength other's can bring to him. That being said, I do not think that it stops him from loving and being in love.
He is the Avatar, however Katara has become the woman behind the Avatar. She is the one who gives him encouragement and unconditional love. I think what Aang needs to let go of is that he will not be able to save Katara all of the time. There might come a time when he has to choose, much like a superhero in a comic book. But she has willingly accepted his journey and fight as her own and she is well aware of the risks.
He is a spiritual being, however he still is a human and I think the lesson with the Avatar state is going to extend far past a simple "you have to let her go."
I almost hope he is no longer the Avatar and the state is destroyed or is severely weakened. Let the world heal itself, unite itself, and fight the fire nation itself. The Avatar is supposed to bring balance, however the world placing all of that responsibility on one set of shoulders is not balance.

Aang seems to be the only Avatar with a "team." He has learned the value of having people support him, he has learned the value of accepting that he has weaknesses and the strength other's can bring to him. That being said, I do not think that it stops him from loving and being in love. Aang may perhaps be the only Avatar with a "team" due to the circumstances he's been brought into(Circumstances being War) but he's not the only Avatar to have been in love. Clearly, there have been other Avatars who have also loved another, have suffered by the lost of a loved one, or in Avatars Kyoshi's case have had an undying love for their people. These loved one's have also provided them with the strength these Avatar have needed and so it's clear that he doesn't have to be deprived of all love. However, his love for Katara has grown to be one more than of friendship or family and so it has become a desire, a "worldly desire" that like the Guru mentioned cannot attach him to the world for the world's sake. I believe it is the love of all his friends that gives him the courage to face the demons within and out. Without Sokka and Toph, Aang will be just as affected and so I feel the Avatar has more than one person behind him. What I feel Aang needs to let go of is the fact that he will not be able to save everyone, not just Katara. He punishes himself to severely for mistakes that were not his own and so it's crucial that like the Guru says learn to simply let go... Spiritual being- the bridge between the two worlds, Aang still remains being a 12 year old boy who also happens to be a Monk. Either way, the goal of reaching "Nirvana" falls to both Avatars and Monks and so he must let all "worldly attachments" in order to reach enlightenment. In these dire circumstances where the world has suffered much in the past 100 years, it can no longer give hope to itself, so then it becomes the responsibility of the Avatar to give and show them hope- a fighting chance.

To be honest, and I know I'm gonna lose my head for this, I think Aang should stand alone. He's, for one, a member of a society based on Tibetan monks. (No joke, it's TIBETAN monks. The colors match, and Gyatso is actually the name of the Dalai Lama. Some coincidence.) And Tibetan monks follow Buddhism, aka earthly love is a no-no because it brings suffering, desire, etc.
Aang's a preteen who missed out on the rest of the training when he and Appa got lost for a hundred years, so he still retains a 'human' mentality. And after the whole dealio with Guru Pathik, he might as well let Katara go, even if he loves her. I think Aang will love her from afar but never get so...close again. You can still love, just not love like THAT.
(I also think he's gonna die but that's a whole different story and I can hear my grave calling.)
But if I were to think like a shipper, I'd choose Toph. Age differences lessen as they get older but mentality is a whole different story. Katara, Sokka, Suki, Yue, Zuko, Azula, Mai, Ty Lee (amazingly), Song, Jin, Jet, Smellerbee(?), Longshot(?), etc. all are around the same age and they all have a certain level of mature mentality that Aang, Toph, Li/Lee, Meng, etc. have yet to reach. To me Katara is very much like a mother/sister to Aang, although she has her moments. Toph, though, is on the same level as Aang. It's more plausible to have some sort of relationship grow as they get older and get to know each other better. (This is assuming we see Aang as a 12-year-old, not a 112-year old.)
The adults in Avatarverse? They're either kooky, crazy, cocky, stupid, honorable, courageous, intelligent, sadistic, EVIIL, insane, etc.
