I love Maiko...mainly because it makes Zuko happy and I'm a huge Zuko fan. I do get a kick out of Mai as well. I enjoy her deadpan humour and she's a very beautiful girl who's amazingly skilled with those knives. I was very impressed with her actions during The Boiling Rock. She kicked butt. I was thrilled to see them reunited in the finale and even more thrilled to see her part of the gaang in Iroh's teashop. I think having friends like that will do Mai a world of good...kind of like it did for Zuko.

Yeah...don't break up with me or you're dead. Zuko is completely whipped now and I think he loves it. ;D I think they're adorable together and have a great future ahead of them.

I definitely see Mai and Zuko getting married, but not for a couple of years. I see them spending as much time together as possible...getting to know each other even better. After all, Zuko's not suffering from the internal struggle that plagued him for most of the series. Mai's not under Azula's thumb either. They'll probably have much more enjoyable times together now.
And I see lots of fun gatherings with the gaang.
All this will have to happen in between Zuko's probably very stressful Firelord duties. But I have faith that Zuko and Mai will be very happy together.

I think having friends like that will do Mai a world of good...kind of like it did for Zuko. I feel the same. Mai probably didn't want to go to Iroh's teashop but I bet she'll grow pretty fond of the Gaang. Seaking of which, here is a Mai and Iroh bonding fic and here is a Mai and Katara bonding fic that both have Maiko. Yeah...don't break up with me or you're dead. Zuko is completely whipped now and I think he loves it. ;D I think they're adorable together and have a great future ahead of them. Haha, I think Zuko loves being whipped by Mai too. I also agree that they have a great future. Like you said, Mai and Zuko don't have as many issues anymore so they can relate to each other in a different way. Plus, it's going to be an... interesting job being the rulers of a reformed Fire Nation.

Thanks for the fanfiction links. I don't think there are a lot of Mai/Katara friendship of Mai/Iroh bonding fics out there. I wish there were more like that.

Speaking of fanfiction, does anyone have any favorite Maiko ones. I've read quite a few, but most seem to be one shots. One shots are fine, but I'd like to read some lengthier fictions, if possible.

In The Headband, Mai says to Zuko "I don't hate you." I think we're supposed to take that as Mai's declaration of "like" for Zuko. So when she says in "Avatar Aang", "I think it means I actually kind of like you", do you take that as a declaration o her love for Zuko? Or is it really just still "like" at that point?

When you hate or are bored by everything in the world, "I don't hate you" sounds like the way of saying "I love you," to me. "I love Zuko more than I fear you," but she wouldn't say it that way to him.
"I won't say I'm in love"... one of my favorite Disney songs.

Yeah, I figure since Mai isn't the emotional, mushy type, saying "I like you" is a pretty strong statement. I think she'll tell Zuko that she loves him one day. Mai's opening up more and more to Zuko. As time goes by, I believe she'll become more comfortable sharing her feelings.

I think Mai does share her emotions, just in her own way. Since Mai isn't the emotional, mushy type, saying "I like you" is a pretty strong statement. That's one of them.
