LOL (excuse me, pardon the abbreviation, I meant "laugh out loud"). That's just a joke right? *hard swallow*

Oh, that depends. *eyes glint evilly* Ha ha, no, but seriously, the rules are fairly common sense here. We're long-winded about it, but it's simple more-or-less. This particular thread was started because this board was getting out of hand, but like Gran said, it's been a few years so it's more lax. If you're worried about the rules, I would stick to the main list, although even that one has intimidatingly long amendments...You don't have to write a novel for every post though, the main point is to try not to make your entire post a four word sentence. (Which even then, sometimes that's all a reply needs for the particular conversation, so it slides by.... you see what I mean? I can't summarize these things succinctly, there's too many variables.) And now it's getting tl;dr. The point, new sir, is to use your brain (at least a bit) when posting. This isn't a preteen chat room so readable English is good (although the LOLs, etc are fine too), and don't post material that would break the Proboards TOS. (or as I like to think of it, things you would hide from your kid sister.) Off-topic stuff is a bit tricky, but for the most part, meandering thought trails and juggling topics is no foul. (It's more of when it takes over the thread that it should start its own.) There are some finer details (like smiting), but other than that, it's pretty chill. As long as you're not being an annoying troll or starting fires, we're pretty understanding.

Thanks for the explanation. It's a good one, I think. It's just, in my experience, rules can be arbitrarily applied to someone, but not to someone else. It's happened to me, I've gotten in trouble for doing things everybody else was doing. Then you know, you get the lecture about how you don't get to break the rules just because others have, etc. Do you see what I mean?

Well, yeah, but we have always been firm but fair. We used to laugh our butts off at "the other" fan sites: impossible chatspeak and any remotely intelligent post was deleted right away.It was a mess of legend!

Excuse me, but isn't this a forum based on a cartoon. Seems reasonable to expect some youthful postings, no?

Excuse me, but isn't this a forum based on a cartoon. Seems reasonable to expect some youthful postings, no? Youthful, yeah, but IQ sucking? heck no! We had some really talented people here, both in the visual arts as well as in writing. I mean REALLY good stuff, a lot of it is still in creations.

"IQ sucking", that's funny. I'm glad a sense of humor isn't forbidden here. There's nothing worse than humorless mods or admin.
Speaking of mods, since I'm just learning the ropes here can someone explain what the difference is between different types of mods? I need to know who to watch out for. J/k

The ones to watch out for are the one that sign on! Purple are the admins, pink are the mods, green are out special assignment mods.

The ones to watch out for are the one that sign on! ;) Purple are the admins, pink are the mods, green are out special assignment mods. And light blue is? ;D Btw, the admins look more of a navy than purple to me. Nightmare - Quick rundown. Specs can only mod in their assigned boards, mods can mod everywhere, and admins can mod, edit the forum, ban people, etc. It's not too difficult. If you don't act dumb, you probably won't have to worry at all. Just have common sense.

Nightmareeventhough i hate nightmares i'll make an exception on your case! lol As an older member of the forum i must say: Welcome to DH! Why thank you, Aanglover. Props and karma for being nice to the new guy. I'll try to never be more than just a mildly bad dream where you're concerned - you know, like when you dream you have a final in a class you forgot to go to all semester. Yeah, well, I try, but I like to have fun and I can be a little relentless in pursuit of a good laugh. Not to worry though, if I haven't offended anyone yet, I probably won't. This is about as controversial as I really get. The ones to watch out for are the one that sign on! Purple are the admins, pink are the mods, green are out special assignment mods. I actually thought admin was in black. Thanks for the run down. I've never been a member of a board that needed more than 2 mods/admin. There's a difference between having a jolly good time, and making all of your posts: LOL Did you get cut off before you could finish your post?

Wait, night is the layout administrator? When I was last here, Akash was the layout moderator. Has he left or is Akash really night and night really a she?
