This is wonderful news! Lisa, karma when my button comes back - this is the best Avatar news since 313 aired in Canada! Perhaps the movies will be shown to create interest/set a background for another season. (Or perhaps, if the movies do generate a lot of interest, that will be sufficient motivation for Nick to continue with another three seasons in the Avatarverse.) Maybe they'll talk about the animated movies at one of the comic cons? I can't believe I'm already scrounging for spoilers

There are several reasons that you're wrong. There are several reasons that you're right! ^_^ I missed the 2009 date! I thought it was '08. This is really great news, It means they do plan to do something original on TV to help cross-promote the theatrical movie. Awesome!

This is great news! I really hope it's true though ^^; It's super great news for the people attending the San Diego Comic-con this year! Many people believe that the panel at this con will be about the live-action movie! XD It's great news for me since I'll be organizing the Avatar meet up and cosplay photo shoot this year again!

Actually, I think the live-action movies are 2 hours long. M. Night once said that he had (finally) compressed the 7.5 hour outline (including everything in the first season) into a 2-hour movie.

^^That's great that he's put so much effort into the movies. A 2 hour movie is perfect! Each movie is a whole season, right? This would all be so disappointing if the ad was a fake.

Why... why does the title of the thread say '3 Avatar movies this fall'? Both the page and the first post of the thread specifically say they air in the Autumn of 2009. You're right. In my SQUEE-state of mind over this most brilliant news I mis-posted it. I edited the thread title.

Yes!
Now us fans have a reason to hang around after the S3 Finale! But the problem is, without any new Avatar material before 2009, some fans might lose interest and forget all about it.
Hopefully I remain a steadfast fan and are as excited in 2009 as I am right now. And hopefully, you guys are gonna stick around with me.
*is so excited that doesn't know what else to say*

SQUEE!!! I'm so excited that we have confirmation for not only a May finale but also more Avatar after the finale! Even if we'll be waiting a year... THANK GOD FOR FANFICTION!!! XD Anyways, I suspect we'll have a lot of debate on this so I'll go ahead and have my say. I've been thinking lately about how they'll be able to air all of the episodes they need for the next DVD to come out and somehow I remembered that last season between "The Drill" and the season 2 finale they had a week in which we got 5 brand new episodes. COuld this be a plausible way to go about this current annoyance? Possible, but it's just speculation on my part as pat of my AWS-riddled mind. XD

Maybe they will play 312 and 313 on the same day since they already aired in Canada? Yes, No, maybe so? But it would be nuts if they played 5 brand new episodes that quickly as you say caterfree10. Although I wouldn't mind.

hey guys, I dont mean to rain on anybodys parade, but that flyer predates November... and Nick's plans could have changed by then. If you look at The little box on the right, the header is "What to Watch November 30th", and its advertising DOBS. so the flyer is legit, and we will get three new movies... but the part about the may finale may have changed by now. At the bottom it has the copyrights, which are in 2008. Another problem being, though, at the bottom in tiny tiny print it says "all information is subject to change". I doubt that will go into use, but just being the wet blanket here. Anyhow... HOLY FREAKING CACTUS JUICE. I have been waiting for SOMETHING, anything to get me off of Avatar Withdrawl Sympton! And here it is! My hopes are high again, I can't wait to see this go into action! WOOOT!

Everything up to 315 *should* logically air before May 6, though, when that dvd comes out. So according to my schedule, 314/315 would air three days afterwards... The options here are: 1) Avatar episodes aren't going to be restricted to Fridays in the upcoming weeks 2) 312 and 313 will be shown on the same Friday 3) Avatar will occupy the same Friday night as either Zoey101 (5/2) or Spongebob (4/11) 3) They delay the DVD release by a week 4) The episodes go to DVD three days before they air on television Potential schedule here for reference: There are a multitude of things that Nick could do to prevent 314/315 from coming out before the sixth, when the DVD is scheduled to be released. But if they do none of those things, and this flyer isn't abusing its "Subject to change" clause there in the bottom left corner, that's only a three day wait.

As to the authenticity of the marketing flyer, I PMed Heather Lynn in Live Journal to ask about this and here is her response: --- lisa31468 wrote: > Heather, > > I am sorry to PM you without permission, but the news you posted about the Avatar May Finale is rather huge. > > I frequent the Avatar forums at TV.com and just want to touch base with you to confirm that the flyer you picked up is legit. > > Is there anything else you feel comfortable sharing about how and where you found it? > > Thank you for anything you can say about it so it can be relayed back to the Avatar fans at TV.com. > > May S3 come to us all sooner rather than later, > > Lisa31468 Lisa, It's very legit. I scanned it myself, and have it at home. If you want, I can take a picture of it showing that it's for real--the other side was just a picture of Aang, so I didn't bother scanning it, but I can if it'll help. At this point, all I can say is that I work for an ad agency. In the marketing department of one of the clients I work with (a major corporation), they left out several packets of marketing promo flyers for Nick's shows, including Spongebob, iCarly, Backyardigans, etc., as well as Avatar. What's funny is that this company would never buy ad space on Nick, so they likely put it out to get rid of it (and because it had a mini-poster on the other side). This sort of information isn't really a secret, it's just a way to promote the network to ad buyers. What bugs me most is how silent the network is in sharing this information with the fans--that's mainly why I scanned it. I hope they start showing the rest of S3 soon, too. I started watching Avatar late (only three months ago), but it still feels like it's taking forever to air the new episodes. Hehehe. She thinks three months waiting for Avatar episodes is 'taking forever.' That's so cute. LOL

Oh oh! Ask her to take pictures if it won't be too much trouble. I think it might iron out what little doubt there is, hopefully.

Lisa, if the flyer turns out to be true, then it will be so good to have a confirmation at last. This has become a mayor topic in many Avatar forums, if not THE topic of the day, with many pro and con discussions. It's not something that can't be faked, because it can, and since it's so easy these days to tic the Avatar community... now that we are so eager to know what happens... it's not illogical to think it's a fake. Heather sounds sincere, though I would love to see more evidence about it.
