There is much ammo for conspiricy theories.
mainly having to do with negotiations with the live action movie.

Basically, Nick has the rights to avatar. an imensly good, show that is raking in the ratings and the money.
however. Nick has defined the direction of its network. and it is to be directed at shallow tweens who only care about the kind of poiltless crap that has no meaning, and therefor is "cool" to find funny(sponge-bob, the barn, yard)). or the kind of stuff the measures ones social status in grade school (iCarly, Drake&Josh)
avatar simply does not fit in with Nick programing. and even if nick did want to aim for the quality of avatar, they simply dont have the talent after M&B is gone.
but, while they do have avatar, they will milk it for every cent its worth. even if it doesnt fit in with the Nick philosophy.
... OK, my mind just died on me. I got no sleep last night. the relationship between the live action movie was explained in detail in some other thread a couple o months agao.
... Ill try to find it once i get some sleep.

Viacom discreetly exacted revenge for SB, check this out... VIACOM PRESS RELEASE: www.viacom.com/news/Pages/newstext.aspx?RID=1124423That's a spankin' press release, isn't it? Unfortunately it is logical to conclude that some portion of the high TV ratings and voter turnout for the 2008 KCAs had, I don't know, something to do with AVATAR and its zealot fanbase! Funny how despite all of that, we weren't mentioned at all. Well if you notice reading the press note...it was talking about First Quarter of the network meaning for over the four months or so...Nick had success without avatar because they haven't aired avatar for those four months....So it wasn't mention thought I just laugh that we thought avatar won and we celebrate, we just keep looking for a fight....So I doubt people here are really enjoying the winning of this if people are angry and sad. you know as well nick and M&B have rights to avatar and since all three have agree with the live action film,(since the have a some what cast semi-already *) what dose that have to do with the direction of nick schedule and programing. www.buddytv.com/articles/avatar-the-last-airbender/avatar-jonathan-nguyen-to-play-16702.aspx ? just hope people don't let there conspiricy theories go to there head and accpet them as fact.

Nickelodeon mencionó el KCA en el comunicado de prensa. Ellos estuvieron muy orgullosos de ello. El Avatar es la razón por qué el KCA fue tal éxito. El avatar no recibió ningún reconocimiento. Esto fue mi punto. Rough English translation: Dude, you didn't get what I was saying.

I'm sure you're right, and Avatar *was* the reason so many people watched KCA, but Viacom isn't going to infer anything in an article like that. They're going to tell us which programs reached the largest audience, not try to explain *why* they're successful. And, like fuego said, no new episodes of Avatar were aired during the first quarter '08 (which is what the article is based off), and Avatar does tend to have fewer viewers when Nick only airs a rerun once or twice a week. Even avid fans like us get confused with Nick constantly changing around airtimes for Avatar. And Spongebob's on, what, every other show? So it's natural for it to get more viewers. Sooo... I guess what I'm trying to say is that they're not blatantly ignoring Avatar; it just wasn't one of the five most popular shows, so it was bound to have been left out of that article. Ehh, it saddens me too. But it's a measure of how wonderful the show is, considering that Avatar has been able to gain success even though it's *always* been underrated and underadvertised (...is that a word?). ... *still can't believe we won*

This press release shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. Avatar hasn't been on regular Nick on a regular basis for quite some time, so it wouldn't be included in that sort of thing, which is focusing on the numbers.

I will choose to see the victory side of this win and not what kind of profiteering Nick gained off our Avatar-addicted backs. Thinking positively or at least giving it a hearty shot.

But I'm p.o.'ed that they don't realize that we're a major part of their success. So little kids love the unspeakable character. Big whoop. We've done better. My mom doesn't like it that I don't like the unspeakable character. But guess what? I love shows that have PLOT. Not just the same moldy jokes. I need new stuff. I need brilliance. I NEED AVATAR! Viacom just doesn't get it.

I think we are a success and they know that but it isn't just avatar alone...problem is we want avatar network and any other show is just *blah* and deserve to die . again that press statement is for what Nickelodeon current state was in the First Quarter status and earnings.

But I can't help but feel ticked off at Nick for not even mentioning Avatar. Even after winning the KCA and defeating the one show that the network swears by! It all seems a little unfair to me - how can Avatar's two re-runs a week compair to Spongebob's 18+ episodes a day? Of course conspiracy theories are gonna start sprouting up!
That said, we all have to remember that we DID beat Spongebob and that all those people watching the KCAs saw it happen. And, soon enough, Nick will see that people are getting tired of old gags and bathroom humor. Every show has to end sometime. And I have a feeling that Avatar will be talked about long after Spongebob is gone.

^^I know. I'm feeling like that DVD ad during the KCAs (which was CUT SHORT anyways) was all we're gonna get.
At least Spongebob didn't get the satisfaction of winning. This is about pride now.
XD That like makes no sense.

Were already tick off at nick anyway. Heck prior to this, people were already preparing for the worst and I beat it would have been the same arguements that we have heard from last years KCA thread and notice how there less arguement over how KCA is not a true and valued award show. Again avatar got the same treatment as spongebob did last year and a year ago and the year after that....It that since this is avatar first win, we want a world war II victory parade on time square and maybe we (just you guys in general) want Nick to bow down to us and and give the award to the cast and crew...Who I'm pretty sure were busy at the time finishing up season three. With the breaking news we currently have...I'm pretty sure Avatar will be nominated in future KCAs and plus, pretty sure this win was for season two....next year it season three.
