I mean... Just the fact of the two most popular relationships saying which on is better is dangerous. I just don't want any "No THIS ONE, NOOOO! THIS ONE!" Type of thing. That is all. ^_^

Eh, I've never gotten the need for Zuko to be paired up with anyone. He just doesn't seem the type to settle down, just yet. Though, I'm a bit biased as I'm rooting for Aang and Katara. I've heard the "opposites attract" arguement, the "Aang's too young" arguement, and the "it's too cliché and predictable" arguement, but I still think that Katara and Aang have more of a foundation for a relationship than Zuko and Katara does. Why? They've actually had heart to heart conversations with one another, they're best friends, and do deeply care for one another - though one could argue Katara's affections are 'motherly' or 'sisterly' at best, but that can change. I mean, if you guys can believe that Katara can bitter enemy/rival to being totally in love with Zuko, then why is it so hard to imagine Katara thinking of Aang as more than her little friend?
The ages may be a factor, but that too can change. Soon, Aang won't be the "goofy little kid," even if he won't fully mature physically, mentally, he'll have to. Aang's twelve, Katara's fourteen, in two years - not that we'll see it - they'll be fourteen and sixteen, the same age as Zuko and Katara. Even if they're too young now, there's still the possibility of it, you know? I don't want full-blown romance on the show, even if it would be interesting, I just want a little closure.
And when people say it's too "cliché," they don't realize it's not entirely true. How many times as of late have we seen the heroine and the hero truly be happy together? Rarely do we see the two hook up, and off the top of my head, I can only name a handfull. Anime's usually have the heroine pair off with the broody, angsty anti-hero and leave the hero to be with someone else. Even if it is a bit predictable to handle their relationship, it'd be even HARDER to actually get it to work. Zuko and Katara's easy, the drama's there, but can you imagine how awkward it'd be for Aang and Katara to get together? I'd watch that.
Finally, let me say, I don't care who wins, or if anyone "wins" at all. I'll glady watch Zuko woo Katara if it makes a good story, and makes Aang at least a bit jealous. I'll also gladly watch if Katara doesn't end up with anyone at all, and the ending is just Aang, Katara, Sokka, and whoever else is with them at the time talking about their futures. I'm an Avatar fan, no pairing preference will ever make me not be one.

katara and aang has too much foundation to be believable. My primary argument thingy is, "if theres no catch too the prophecy, why make it vague at all. And why the h*** would aang interpret the prediction correctly in like 10 seconds."
oh well. I wont be to unhappy if its kataang. Just be dissapointed. Not by the lack of zutara but rather id be dissapointed in the writers.

Actually this was just meant to be a headcount to see which relationship was the most popular on the forum. I had mentioned it to Ardor cause I was curious to see who else was a Zutarian. It wasn't meant as uh, who is better.

And why the h*** would aang interpret the prediction correctly in like 10 seconds." oh well. I wont be to unhappy if its kataang. Just be dissapointed. Not by the lack of zutara but rather id be dissapointed in the writers. I always took that episode to mean that it wasn't the prophecy itself that held any value, but the characters reactions themselves. Aunt Woo was already proven to be more-or-less a fraud by the end of the episode, but for the first part of it, the characters went on believing that what she said was true. Thus, they acted that way, Sokka the skeptic, Aang the hopeful, and Katara based her decisions on Aunt Woo's words. At the end of the episode, when Sokka remarked how "powerful a bender" Aang was, Katara's face was one of realization, not disgust. By then she knew that the prophecy itself wasn't entirely true, but she had hoped it had been and was eagerly awaiting her "powerful bender." Her reaction just proved she saw Aang in a new light; most probably not romantic, but her views of him changed as she saw he wasn't just some goofy kid and was incredibly strong in his own right and would just grow stronger. So there's a possibility there. I actually applaud the writers for that episode, not because of any foreshadowing or whatnot, but solely because of how the well fleshed out the characters were; even Meng. (Well, that and it's one of the few times we've seen how powerful an airbender Aang is...and the animation on the air effects, superb!)

Hehe. I'm not much of a shipper for anything, really, but I voted for Kataang. Because it just seems more plausible than Zutara. ...Well, alright, maybe because I just plain don't like Zutara. XD

Intertiatic has quite a few good points! Wow...hmmm I've said before that maybe when Katara and Aang are older maybe a romantic relationship could work out, I just didn't think it would work out yet. And now I think about it, Zutara does seem more unlikely than I had thought. So I don't really know anymore, although I think Zutara is more appealing to me. (Although at some point a REALLY want to see Zuko blush at something or for him to actually think about a girl romantically...)

Katara and Aang. They share a more close relationship. I can understand where Zuko and Katara fans are coming from. I just think Katara and Aang are too cute together and they're so tight. I love seeing friendships becoming something more. While Zuko and she have nothing as of yet. If they become friends I may reconsider, but i doubt it because the pairings just too cute.
