^^Thank you!! I'm getting rather annoyed with people who keep asking that question. (not just here, on other forums too!) I can't fathom what is so difficult about it. It's not like Aang and Roku are the same people physically, only spiritually. Thats exactly how I feel about it.

Kali Gargoyle had a very good theory as to who Aang's mom was based on the flash back scene in the Guru ep (the scene about the green chakra) I wish i still had the link to it because she had pictures and everything up about it.

This episode was fantastic. i wasn't liking the first few episodes that much. they've seemed so off but this one was real avatar quality. can't wait till day of black sun.

This was by far the best eppie this season so far!! I am betting that DoBS will surpass it, but for now this is what I've been dying to see! I saw it early and couldn't wait to see it on a bigger screen, and man I just keep watching it. Finally an episode with substance!!!

I think by and large all the episodes this season have been Avatar quality, but this one has definitely raised the bar for the rest of the season... The dramatic tension was wonderfully done, and I love the parallel between Sozin and Roku's friendship and the potential for Aang and Zuko's... The idea of the two of them having a friendship that is somehow destined is an idea I really love...it has that mythic quality that I absolutely adore... And to put my two cents in on the topic that seems to be on every Avatard's mind these days...no I don't think Aang and Zuko are related, as such, but that they are spiritually connected. It should be very interesting to find out what will prevail...the enmity between them or the friendship... BTW, did anyone else notice that Zuko doesn't seem to have found out how Roku died? Maybe I misinterpreted, but it seemed like the history Zuko was reading was (no big surprise) biased and made it seem like Roku just went away and Sozin then led the Fire Nation to victory. Aang, on the other hand, literally watched Roku's memories for himself and was able to judge accordingly. A much more impartial method of learning about the past, IMO. In any event, if Zuko didn't learn that Roku (also his great-grandfather) died as a result of the betrayal of his best friend (who was also Zuko's great-grandfather), it may give him a new perspective on his family, and Aang. I hope so, anyway.... Not sure if any of that made sense, but anyway...TTYL, all!

Aang and Zuko were supposed to be hearing the same story. Besides, Sozin was describing the eruption, so I don't see why he would skip the part about him helping Roku, then leaving him to die, if he went so far as to bring up the eruption.

I think the only thing not shared was Roku's realtionship to Zuko...he learned that from Iroh after everything was finished, not from the scroll...

^^^That's the impression I got, too - that the only thing not included in the scroll was Zuko's familial relation to Roku (which of course, happened after the scroll was written). Really late to the party here, but this episode was one of my favorites of all three seasons. So well-done, with great moments and great information. This is Avatar at its best.

Indeed it did...and I doubt Roku knows about it either... I'm waiting for Zuko to show up with the Royal Artefact...and for Aang to go ballistic because he's got it. Aang: "Where did you get that!? You have no right to have that!" Zuko: "I have every right! It belonged to my great-grandfather!" Aang: "It BELONGEDto Avatar Roku!" Zuko: *looks away* "Yes...it did..." Aang: *eyes widening in shock* "No way..."

I have this crazy mental scenario of Zuko suddenly running after Aang, but for an entirely different reason. I can see him starting to go "Great-grampy? Grampy! Please come back, I want to learn more about my past! Graaaaaaaammmmppyyyy!!!!!" Meanwhile, Aang runs away thinking, "I always thought his chasing me was weird, but this takes the very, very, bizarre cake!"

That could have worked if Daydreams and Nightmares came after Aang learns the Roku/Zuko connection...

so theoretically aang is zuko's BFF and great grandfather.
HA! I love it
My favorite quotes of the episode: "It's my wedding! Have a cookie!" "Some friendships are so strong they even transcend lifetimes."
I believe that zuko and aang's could be one of these friendships. I love this episode. I hope that after Day of Black Sun there will be more quality episodes like this.
