Instead of blowing cash on a program you may not even be interested in using and achieving it's money's worth, I suggest finding a free trial of photoshop and using it for the 30 day trial period. You're not going to be making anything fangasmic in that period of time, but you'll be able to see if you like making graphics and decide if you want to further your practice in it.
If you like it, then look into buying it. If you don't, you just saved yourself some money.

PFT, I got my version of Elements for free. It came with my tablet =D
But anyways, I suggest downloading a trial. It lets you play with the program and decide if you really want it, before blowing your cash on say, CS3, and deciding that you hate it.
Elements usually goes for around $100 when not on sale, and CS3 is $600+, depending on if you get extended or not.
Or you can ttly did what I did for my version of CS and use a keygen...lols

thanks guys for the help. I tried to download a Trial version of it yesterday. It said i needed to have Adobe reader or something, and it didnt work with my Pc. I guess because my PC has some much stuff on it.

Adobe (among others) is notorious for practically giving it's products away to educational institutions. Ask your school if you can buy a license through them.
