Sad as it is I think Season 3 is just turning into filler episodes until The Day of Black Sun. I'm just saying that "The Awakening" was really good, but I felt it was rushed. Also in "The Headband," it was good but didn't have much to do with the plot.. I mean Aang went to school. *end* But in "The Painted Lady," Aang didn't go to school anymore and they saved a town. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Season 3 but I think it's rushed a bit.

Same here. I mean, I thought the first three episodes were good, but they could've done something more... productive than go to a school, have a dance party, then save a town. Remember Iroh, Aang? Remember Suki, Sokka? Come on! Plus, they need a firebending teacher for Aang! Season three so far just isn't what I expected. >_ > But, then again, there are 17 more episodes. Plenty of time to impress me. ;D

Yeah, the flow's...sort of odd. But Season 3 is just getting onto its feet. It needs time to get into the more plot-heavy episodes. Season 2 didn't have a solid overall plot until about The Library. We just need to wait for the big 'turning point' that sparks the action.

Season three is really... weird compared to the first two.
First we have the premier which really needed more time to expand, then the next episode which was rather dull since the mere fact that they are in the FN and have to blend in is completely taken in passing with no recognition, and then this one which did absolutely nothing for the environment and only made Katara an even better person.
The next episode looks much better not only in animation but with the plot and especially the fighting.

I was pleased with "The Awakening" and "The Headband." I was just really disappointed with "The Painted Lady." Here's to hoping it's the only disappointment of season three.

I thought the next episode "Sokka's Master" was going to involve Suki. I know he needs to learn to fight to be some kind of use in fighting, but is it worth an episode? You DECIDE. lol
I'm glad I'm not alone here ... I am still adapting to Season 3, but c'mon writers?! Give us something we'll think about until the next episode!

They've done a few story lien worthy things in episodes 2 and 3. They've shown a villiage waterbenders, and othe people in general, arn't bad guys. They've shown children freedom. There setting the stage for a better fire nation.
Also, there leaving a trail for the combustion man. one kid saw them earthbend and might have told others. A entire villiage knows theres waterbender in the fire nation. It shouldn't be long till the combustion man finds them at this rate.
On a lesser note; they've learned about a secret river into the Fire Nation capital.

I sense a plot hole.

I usually enjoy filler episodes cause mostly isn't that what our lives are, just filliers until big events come by say like a wedding or graduation...Seem mostly out context but I mostly enjoy cause there "normal" things like buy food...we all do that but with aang it all "Swooish"..."Wooish"...purchase and then flyback.
Point is I don't have a problem with filliers or this season since it early right now.

I admit, Avatar does seem to be going way to filler-y. I have noticed, that the only plot in season three so far is Zuko's.

I don't consider any episodes filler. Each episode has a point. The Awakening set the stage for the whole season. The Headband not only gave Aang a chance to be live as a person for a little bit, but also helped set up a free thinking school of kids, who are the future of the Fire Nation, if all the kids are completely brainwashed, then what good does slaying a single man really do. Each of those kids will remember what happened that night, and teach it to their friends, and someday, their children. The Painted Lady showed Katara's primary concern, helping others in small ways, rather than large ones. As the small things in life are often more noticed than the large ones. A single saved village is one villag who will assist the Fire Nation in rebuilding a prosperous peaceful nation.

I don't make the determination that certain episodes are fillers until I've seen the whole season. We don't know if something from a particular episode will be referenced in another until the season is complete.

Honestly if you've seen Anime fillers then I don't think you really have room to complain. In my opinion the Headband wasn't a filler, because of the Zuko visiting Uncle Iroh as well as an intro to 3 eye guy. The Painted Lady actually had a plot and much like Aang visiting the school gave us a better look at the Fire Nation.
All and all this is exactly like what happened in the previous season. Season 1 we had the Forturne Teller and the Great Divide while season 2 had the Swamp and Avatar Day.
But despite being filler you guys have to admit the writing is better in these episode than the majority of American action cartoons being written today.
