It is simple. Do you approve the new three season story arc with new characters that is going to take place after the current story arc finishes?

I say yes. There is so much you can do with the world. It's rich and diverse in culture and history that it would be a shame to let it go to waste with just one set of characters. Alot of fans are opposed to it but I have had a good experience with cast switching stories. I'd like to see story about a Fire Nation platoon during the Siege of Ba Sing Se for example. You could have Lu Ten as a character. It doesn't have to be long just recounts the events that transpired.
I don't mind a new cast with some of the older cast playing supporting roles. That's how Gundam and Zeta Gundam did it. It seems I'm alone in exploring the possibilities of different characters and their stories in the Avatar world..

But Avatar isn't Gundam, Prime Directive. They would probably create another "Gaang," and have another set of characters, a new story, etc. We don't know if the series will take off after the events in Books I - III, but everything is up in the air.
Yet I am still supportive of a new series. I just hope the creativity stays (as well as Bryan, Aaron, and Mike).

a new "gaang" is exactly what gundam did anyway. Like I said seeing the world in another nation's perspective will be interesting. That's why if they make a new series I would advocate a Fire Nation protagonist..

That sounds interesting, but I don't think a whole new series would be done...maybe they could release a five episode mini-series. You know, like an OVA.
A few episodes about the Fire Nation's attempt to take over Ba Sing Se would be cool. Or maybe something about one of the past Avatars.

Actually, I like the idea of a new Gaang. Yes, I'd like to see another story arc with the Gaang, but it isn't going to happen anyways, the contract was for 60 episodes... Anyways, I'd like to see something like what Prime Detective said. But I had a theory going on, which a few other had in mind as well (even tough it isn't very likely).... the next nation in the cyclus is water.... so what if the next Avatar happens to be the grandchild of Sokka! In that way, the show is still connected to the old Gaang.... in a way. I don't think it will happen, but it's nice to dream This thread was about a new story arc and I support it I mean, M&B are very creative, they can come up with something just as good as Avatar.

I guess it's all a matter of taste after all. I for one like mini supplementals like Seige of Ba Sing Se. For major stories it's all about execution. If you make a new "gaang" and make them as likable or more than the original with a plot that is just as good or even better, than I'm all for it. It's all about execution.

There may be a new person, reincarnated into the Water Tribe. You never know what may happen with that. We may have a female Avatar, and see the show from a completely different perspective.

I think it'd be interesting to see other characters during the Ava-verse, however, I think Avatar is fine how it is

I've got mixed feelings about it. Because they could either do it 10 times better (even though that's close to impossible) or they could ruin it completely! All I can say Mike & Bryan have never let us down before, I still have faith in them!

Thing is, I do not know if I personally have the heart to fall in love with a new gang as I have now. I totally approve of the three more seasons thing, since that means I'll still have something to look forward to like a little kid when I'm off to college and all that. But a "new avatar," a new cast, will be just too much for me.
Maybe a prequel of some sort will be good, but we'll pretty much know how things will end up anyway... I'm worried that that'll kill the whole series, but there might be thsoe who think otherwise.
It's like with Phoenix Wright. You spend hours and hours playing the stupid game and making Phoenix an ace attorney, solving every crime and cornerng every suspect. You get attached to the characters.
And then, for some CRACKPOT reason, Phoenix turns it around and gets framed and becomes a hobo; a Hobohodo. Thus, a new attorney steps in and uses Pheonix as some mentor. I can't fall in love with the new characters now. /endrant
But, Mike and Bryan are smart guys and I'm trusting the staff to make the new seasons a success story. New characters or not, I'll be looking forward to what the guys have in store for us. They're great at creating developed characters- I never thought I'd fall for any Nickelodeon character before in my life. Now look at me.
So, even after the Gaang's story, bring it on!!

Yea I approve of them making a new series based in the Avatar universe. I just dont see it being any better than the original that we're waiting to finish. I wonder if any of the Gaang will make cameo appearances in the series, or maybe hidden in plain sight as a doll, toy, or just standing in the background.

Well I hope it at least is as good. Zeta Gundam was critically acclaimed and was overall better the it's predecessor. They are both set in the same timeline/universe..

I wish they would continue with the current story arc. I love these characters too much to say goodbye to them. *tear*
