I don't think her parents get the message, otherwise they would've showed it at the end of the episode. It would have rounded it off nicely, but they didn't.

I'm sure we'll see Hawky fly to the Bei-Fong estate later. As of now, it's currently flying out of the FN and making it's long journey to the EK.
It took the Gaang nearly a day to get to the FN in the "Winter Solstice", so it'll take Hawky longer since it probably doesn't fly as fast as Appa does.

I think that the last scene being Katara helping Toph to write the note was actually a better ending. No need to take focus away from Aang & Co. when the episode was all about them. As for Xin Fu and Master Yu getting the note, I doubt it. I think that them getting trapped inside that metal box was the end of their run, which is sad, because that was the crappiest character resolution we've seen on Avatar in 49 episodes.

The Fire Nation has taken over the Earth Kingdom. Did Team Avatar forget or something?

The Fire Nation has taken over Ba Sing Se. They don't have the manpower to occupy the entire country. So I figure Toph's parents are fine.

But both Aang and The Earth King said that the Earth Kingdom has fallen. Plus, sending a Hawk like that is just giving everything away. I don't know what Team Avatar is thinking sometimes. Are they even trying to win the war?

are you so sure? BSS was a huge capital hub. thats where all the traiding went on.
EK terrorties that are small rual farming vilages should be fine. but the middle class type city that toph lived in depended on trade from BSS.
they might even surrended just to get some food from the FN.
of corse if avatar doesnt handle the economy with complete realism i will forgive them ;D

Well they were crappy villains anyway ;p That's a consequence of only being given like three episodes' worth of screentime! =*( Xin Fu was an excellent villain in "The Blind Bandit". I keep thinking that so much more could have been done with their characters. "Tales of Ba Sing Se" could have been a filler about them journeying to Ba Sing Se and plotting their revenge on Toph and just generally hating each other because their personalities clashed so violently. Plus, the guy who did Master Yu's voice was amazing. "Veeery sneeeaky Toph!" I miss those guys.

Are they even trying to win the war? That's because the Earth Kingdom government has fallen. Does that mean that there will be a hundred Fire Nation soldiers sitting in Toph's house ready to read her letters? Naw. Unless Hawky dies in mid-flight, no one's going to intercept that letter. And if they did? So what. It's a message from a girl to her parents. Do you think she said she was with the Avatar in the Fire Nation planning to invade during the eclipse? I should think not.

Though I could see them repenting for rejecting their daughters strength and maybe wanting to help with the invasion, or at least the climactic battle. They could find out again from the two dunderheads just how powerful their girl is. I'm sure with their wealth they've had some dealings with the Fire Nation occupiers. I just don't think they are completely out. I mean they're bringing back the inventor and his kid for crying out loud. They don't forget their characters. I wonder if Song has joined the invasion force?

Im goin to say, this letter doesnt mean much at all, and I think the last episode for like 1 minute after the ginormous battle is over, you'll just see everyone return home, crying and hugging their loved ones, the southern tribe built up again, aang standing on a mountain, the screen fades white....series over....all our hearts stop....some of us have withdrawals....some may even die....
SEASON 4 COMES THE NEXT YEAR AND THE DEAD ARE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFEEE
Im excited for season 4...kinda...

^I'm not so thrilled about a fourth season without the gaang in it D:
When they sent hawky I got this strange feeling the message was gonna get intercepted. Of course I have nothing to support this theory except for the fact that hawky might not know where Toph's parents live. Maybe some random firenation general recieves the letter instead or maybe Ozai gets it (of course he wouldn't really care, I don't even think he knows who Toph is).

i was totally thinking the same thing too. I was like to my sister, "do you think that Xin fu and Master Yu are gonna get that letter, and not her Parents?" that is a good question, and it better not happen.
