Speaking of using bloodbending for healing purposes, one could use bloodbending to do blood-letting.
Now when most people think of blood-letting they're probably thinking of the healers during the dark ages who entered the sick room with a kitchen knife and a bucket. And most of the time blood-letting didn't really work out for the patients at all.
But the idea of removing infected/corrupted blood from the body is still very sound, and when done with precision and control blood-letting can be a life saver. And with bloodbending this procedure could be performed very quickly and efficiently.

Especially with head injuries and other dangerous swellings, as well as the simple act of easing a cramped muscle... Man, what I wouldn't give to be able to do that when my foot decides to curl in on itself...

When I saw the episode I kind of figured none of this would be anything just because it's a cartoon..
