How about loved and lost her in the past? After all, that's what the swamp shows right? Yes, my post said that. ("Either it means Aang loved her reincarnate in a past life, and lost her then," that means in the past... The swamp shows people they have loved, people they have lost. That's what it said in the show. Then Hue said that time is an illusion, because Aang hadn't met his vision yet. Therefore, this means that the swamp could really show you anything you have or will ever love, and lose. But it works differently for Aang, because he has had so many past lives. Who is to say that he couldn't see visions of people he had lost ten reincarnations ago? We just don't know, with the Avatar world, because anything can happen.

I'm not sure what the grace period is on when open discussion can start on recently aired episodes, to stay on the safe side I'll keep this vague. I have to, rather shamefully, admit that a certain line of Toph's in last night's ep brought me immediately to mind of this thread. People who have read this thread and saw 306 probably know exactly what I'm speaking of.

^ Yup, and it makes me so sad I don't want to think about it right now. Of course, since part of the point of the show is that the love is still there, I should stop being so attached. And I'm certain that if it did happen, it wouldn't be without reason.

Here is another reinforcement to the Swamp Theory. It's quite good and worth the time.
