A fourth season of avatar after Ozai is defeated?
You know what else might be a good idea...
a new season of FMA: Ed and Al's Misadventures with Nazis (and no alchemy)!
Or an 8th HP: Harry Potter and the Great Deppresion as a Result of Having No Purpose
Maybe a fourth matrix movie: Matrix: Everyone's Dead but Morpheus
Or perhaps a crossover sequel: Princess Mononoke meets Ferngully

Hmm, well if Nick wanted to make a fourth season I'd think they'd make some changes. First, Aang would have to die. This way the Avatar could move on to the next nation in the cycle, the Water Tribe. Yes, the new Avatar would be a young waterbender named Bob.
He lives in a pineapple under the sea.
Don't worry though, they'll keep all your favourite characters, kind of. Sokka would have to a real dumb starfish, Iroh would be a money grubbing crab, and Zuko would be an annoying something. No seriously, what is that thing? A squid? An octopus? Cthulu? My lunch? Oh, I almost left out Toph. Ya, she'd be a squirrel dressed up as an astronaut. She's tough, but get her out of her element and she is in trouble.
Oh and Katara could that whale thing, I think that whale is supposed to be female? Hey this kinda fun. The Boulder=muscular lobster, Ozai=evil plankton, Avatar Roku= some pirate's ghost . . .
Well, these are just ideas. I am sure Nickelodeon has far "better" ideas on how to drive a once popular T.V. show into the ground in the search for more profits. That is what they seem to be good at.

I'm mixed...I'd like to see it continue...but I'd want it to stay true to the creators' vision. If Mike and Bryan think it should end with Ozai's defeat, that's where it should end...

IMO instead of continuing the story after the war they can just give focus to a different set of characters. The world is rich and diverse. It's literally HUGE. It encompasses so many people so it would be a shame to just end it after the story of one group of people. The place is rich, it would go to waste if it ended with just the primary story. It could be set in a different time on a different side like the Fire Nation.

Really book 4 might be about the aftermath of the war, I definately like to see what would happen in a post war world and Aang having to settle any additional conflicts that might come up.

Hm I really think Aang should die at the end, and then there could be a whole new show loosely based of Avatar
(this is not about to be an irritating sarcastic remark. I promise)
It could be some sixteen years after the defeat of the firelord and the world could be in the midst of a power vacuum. The show would be about the new Avatar's quest to learn the elements and restore order. Naturally, without Aang his greatest challenge will be to master airbending. Along the way there can be cameos aplenty, older Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko (assuming they all live) would be very interesting to see.
Hm. Maybe I'll write fanfic about it...
Anyway, I would call the show...
"Avatar: The New World"
Yeah yeah, lame, cliched, I know I know, but it was worth a shot...anyone like the idea?
Edit: 100th post WOOT!

if all aang accomplishes is defeating ozai, then he's fallen well short of acheiving balance for his world...

if all aang accomplishes is defeating ozai, then he's fallen well short of acheiving balance for his world... True that. Killing Ozai won't save the world. They could make a fourth season; I'm sure that there could be a new conflict and another great story. I'm not counting on it though. I think that the team will move on and make another revolutionary show. Maybe one even better than Avatar.

Senior as in "Yaay I'm graduating!" or senior as in "Get off my lawn you dang kids!"? Wikipdedia isn't the most reliable source, but still, we can pray. Ha! I love it!

What will they do in season 4?
The creators said that Aang will fight Ozai in season 3.
Edit:Actually,I think they should do a whole season about Aang before he froze himself.
A lot can happen in 12 years.
