let me think about it. i would be senior watching Avatar if there was a season 4. Cool............ I'd be in college... A while ago there was a link on one of the threads to an interview with, if I remember correctly, Bryan and maybe someone else. They said that avatar was originally planned for 3 seasons and maybe something else after. Then they said avatar was alot more popular than they'd expected. They said if avatar did have a 4th season, then it would be about after the war, since they beat Fire Lord Ozai in season three.

Season 4 would be great, but if they do decide to do another season it may be because of pressure from NICK to continue a very strong franchise. This could be a bad thing if the quality of the show suffers because of it, since it would be outside of the original plotline . Just wanted to know peoples thoughts on this.

Maybe make the book of "Air" into like an "OVA" (original video animation) series.. They do that for a lot of anime. XD I think it would be cool if they did some kind of storyline before the war starts and Aang get's trapped in the iceberg~ That way we could see Aang's friends from all around the world when he was younger (Kuzon! T_T) and see how the war started in the first place. Plus I think he'd be in the stage of mastering airbending so it would fit the book title.

I hope they make a season 4 where Aang defeats Fire Lord Ozai instead of in season 3!

Yeah, but I don't want them to sacrifice quality for quantity. Even though I want 4 books, if they can't incorporate a new storyline, they should just stick with what they've got.

As much as I would want them to make four books, there runs the possiblity of there being too many filler episodes in season 4. Think about it. In each of the books, Aang masters an element. Since he is the last airbender, and has supposedly mastered air, what would be the point of having a book devoted to that element? What would it include? well Aang didn't really master water bending in season 1 he just started learning a few moves...and there is another airbending character coming up(Malu or Jojo something like that) so the title is pretty much a lie since he isn't the last 1 ( that is if all the ones remaining get killed accept aang)...besides i think its impossible that all airbenders were wiped out...someone had to be getting some milk when the FN arrived . And i think there is an infinity of things that can happen in a season...we really don't know anything about the airbenders

Personally, I believe there will be a season 4. And here is why.
1) The intro states the four elements in the order that the books go. Thus it would be logical for there to be one season for each element. Otherwise, why not introduce air first in the intro?
2) Each book adds something very important for each character. I'm going to focus only on Aang here for the sake of brevity.
Book 1-Water: Aang learns to water bend, but he also learns that he cannot run away from being the Avatar. His actions affect the fate of the world, just as water can bring life or death.
Book 2-Earth: Aang learns to Earth bend. He also learns that there is more to being the Avatar than just becoming more powerful and fighting. Strategy, patience, timing, love, and even sacrifice of that love are all vital.
Book 3-Fire: Aang learns to fire bend. Now this is just speculation on my part, but this is what I believe Aang will also learn. Up to now the enemy has always been clear; the fire nation. Of course, people like Jet and Long Feng have been exceptions, but we have not seen things work the other way around. Aang has not seen anyone from the fire nation as a friend or ally. The end of season 2, where Iroh rescues Katara and Aang, hints at the new lesson for Season 3. Friend and foe are not so easily distinguished. The line between justice and biggotry is a blurred one. Aang is not like Jet, he will not label everyone an enemy simply because they are of a certain nation. But he will have to learn how to look into people and know when to trust them, as well as when to look into himself and trust his own judgment. Likewise, Zuko will have to complete his metamorphosis and decide between his honor and what is right. If Zuko chooses the right path, then he may be a key player in Aang's next lesson.
Book 4-Air: This may very well be when Aang defeats the fire lord, if it hasn't already been done in the previous season. Perhaps the title "Air' is because, at the end of the series, Aang sets out to restore the Air nomads, so he will no longer be the last air bender and the Avatar reincarnation cycle will not die. For this to work, however, Aang will have to reconnect with his people. This will be challenging, since they are extinct. Perhaps Guru Patchik will help with this? And if Aang does reconnect to them, there is still another obstacle. Aang must learn from the past, but he must not cling to it. He has to let the past go, but he must never forget it. Aang must find balance within himself before he can bring balance back to the world, and to do that, he must learn from the past, plan for the future, but never relinquish the present.
And... 3) One more season would just kick a**!
Phew, that was long.

I agree with pleading eyes. This is what the series has been hinting to as well.

Pleading Eyes exalted.
I really hope that your theory is correct. Of course, I trust and believe in the creators/ writers to keep anything from getting stale. I don't think they would compromise the integrity of the show just because Nick wants to run it for a billion more years.
God help us all if Avatar becomes the new Rugrats.
