I vote for the Earth King blabbing about the invasion plan. Hasn't he heard the phrase "Loose lips sink ships" before?

^Agreed. Seemed rather naive of him to tell someone about the major plan....

Even if they are supposed warriors from an allied village. But I do forgive Katara, she didn't know.

I think one of the stupidest things was the fact that Katara would've used her spirit water on Zuko's scar if Aang and Iroh hadn't gotten there. Does she really carry it with her everywhere? If so, why wouldn't she try to use it on Jet? Or at least save it for when someone was badly injured, not just use it on a scar? Katara lost a lot of points with me.

if where blaming the earth king for tell the his plan to an equal of what we all knew where the Kyoshi warriors then shouldn't he get the blame for letting them in the first place as well as for the gang for not waiting until the Kyoshi warriors came by I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there weren't any dumb action that took place cause great intentions that are always brought by disappointment.

I don't think the Earth king should have told the "Kyoshi Warriors" about it even if they were the Kyoshi Warriors. If he wouldn't have done that none of this would have happened.

I'm between Katara telling Azula about Zuko and the Earth King Telling Azula about the war plans. I mean, she could've LOOKED before speaking. But the Earth King trusted them, no matter what they looked like he would not recognize them as villans.

I think the Earth King was foolish in telling them the plans. A strategy like the one they were planning needs to be as classified as possible. There's no way a competent leader would just blurt out all the details like that to someone he just met, even with stellar references.

the earth king, like mahatista said those plan are top secret you don´t tell them to some friends of your new friend (I think that he was just to happy or and he have to talk XD), then Katara ... screaming in the palace "Firenation is here" is not a smart move, in the best scenary you cause colective panic XD, The friend of the avatar running with a scare face from the tea sop to the palace, yeap some people could have follow her to know what happen (even servants) bad move of her part.

Katara honestly didn't know better. The only experiences she's had with Zuko and Iroh have been bad ones, so naturally, seeing them in the city's gonna make her panic. And she wasn't expecting the Kyoshi warriors to be wolves in sheeps' clothing. That's just excellent plot.
Yeah, I agree with just about everyone here. The Earth King is a dunce squared. After being somewhat of a puppet for the Dai Li, I wasn't expecting much from him as a leader anyway. So when he ran around blabbing "Hey guess what guyz?!! Fire Nation invasion! Omg!!1" I was totally unsurprised.

Well she was only doing what she felt was right, maybe she did mess up with Jet but she didnt do it on purpose. Plus she was right in the middle of Dai Li central, not a lot of time to think about actions like that. If anyone screwed up it was Zuko in my mind, he had a chance at a better life and he blew it... But its easy to dismiss him if you are another fangirl.
