congrats on your everything Zuko.
I'm loving Korra and Asami's new looks - my fabulous hbics, though I'm wondering about Lin and Iroh! And I'm hoping Ursa and Zuko get brought in at some point, though I wonder if that'll be saved for Books 3 and 4 since this seems to be a lot about Republic City and the rest about the North and South WTs and Spirit World. Maybe 3 and 4 will respectively take place in the Earth Kingdom (would be nice to see how they've changed!)
Anywho, the spirit monster from the panel looks kinda like a heartless lol - but I'm excited to find out what's up with that. I wonder if there will be a human connection to the wonkiness of the spirit world?
-Hes getting a love intrest and a story arc *WE* Sounds like he is playing a bigger role than his brother next season, hes also got some new friends without Team Avatar ^ I think hes just too sweet, how can any one not be his friend yah know?

if Iroh and Asami are dating now I would cry endless tears of joy forever my shipper feelings would just die.
I kind of hope it's a girl he has to chase. With the exception of Korra, Bolin seems to be the kinda guy who can always get a girl on his arm lol. I kinda hope this girl is one who he has to chase - not in a "she likes my older brother/another guy so I might as well quit" way, but kind of how Sokka ultimately impressed Suki. :3
here's a video of Janet (Korra), David (Mako), PJ (Bolin), and Seychelle (Asami) reading scenes from episodes. Some of my favorite parts include David pretending to kiss Janet, pretty much all of PJ's ad-libs, and the stunning revelation to Andrea Romano that there isn't anyone under 16 in the panel lmfao.
here's another video without the ugly green bar that was floating around of the animatics/concept art for book 2.
Thanks for posting all the SDCC info, Empy! It's exciting to hear that the Spirit World and Korra's spiritual journey will play a big role in the next Book, and the focus on Korra and Tenzin's families looks to be good too. Definitely looking forward to learning more about the twin cousins, Kya, and Bumi. And of course Bolin's development and the Spirit World, eeeee. Asami's flight gear is pretty awesome too; I really hope she'll get some development time as well.
Two of the Avatar writers returning for season two is great news too, can't wait to hear who they are. Oh, and for the new/old Team Avatar posters, I found some higher-res photos here, though by now there's probably better ones floating around. Still though, grown-up Gaang! I love that Momo is still around, though sad that Suki or Mai aren't included. Maybe they wanted to stick with the 5-character parallel.
Sweet! I am excited to see more of the Avatar world in season 2! Seeing the spirit world will be fun as well. Its going to be such a long wait for this next book to come out. It will also be interesting to see what happens to Bolin and his new girl.
Keeper of the keys to Iroh's Jail (as if he needs them) Owner of Aang's and Katara's dance moves. Keeper of Sokka's White Lotus tile. Owner of Bloodbending.
Since its virtually impossible for Korra to come out this April, I wonder if she meant next April.
When what was whispered by the lovers in a cave as they blazed a trail toward freedom will be shouted from the mountain tops. When the world finally sees that the hopes of the little girl from a crumbling Southern Water Tribe are the same as the dreams of the boy in the iceberg. We will begin the next great chapter in the Avatar Saga with one word- KATAANG!
I certainly hope it isn't next April. It is really hard to keep fans interested in a show when it only comes on every other year. Of course the hardcore fans will keep coming back, but casual fans will almost forget about it. Surely, we will get some concrete information on air date soon though.
It looks like Janet Varney took back her comments about it being in April and has asked people to wait for an official announcement.
But I agree; even though I know that a quality show like this takes a long time to make, having the seasons air so far apart really cools public interest in it. I feel confident that there will be real scene clips for SDCC this year and that will help pump up the excitement. Hopefully there will be a premiere date for this year too.

Have to say I am excited for season 2. I finally felt like it had picked up on some of what I really loved about TLA when Korra went into the Avatar State. While I have had problems with some of the direction that Korra has taken, I find that the idea of splitting off from the core characters to be both welcome and an time for Korra to introduce minor characters. Where would our fandom be without cabbage man, Haru, or The Boulder? Korra's first outing suffered for lack of interesting, fanable characters to munch on. Having Korra shift away from a "New Team" crash-coarse and towards uncovering secrets is great.
I do hope that Lin continues to play her sudo-mentor role in the next few seasons. She is by far my favorite Korra character, and I see her bringing Korra's character down to earth, while at the same time showing a bit more of her mother. Comon.... Lin's got to have some wild side she's suppressed!!
