Over all the season was only ok, like other have said more event driven than character and too many convenient plot twists.
It'll probably show in the dvd/blu ray sales. Personally i bought the dvd sets of the first series but have no plans to do so for Korra.

Im surprised that there is so much complaining about the series. Sure, it does have its flaws, but so did ATLA. The only confusion I had of the show was about how bloodbending takes away one's ability to bend. I feel like people are complaining about the romance aspect of the show because the romance in LOK is much more prevalent than in ATLA. Anyways, it is true that there are still some questions in the show, but this is only the first season. I am sure that things will be fleshed out in further episodes.

That's actually a valid point. I think in this one romance took a much bigger front seat than it did in ATLA - with a few exceptions here or there. tbqh, Aang and Katara did have their moments, but plenty of them could be considered platonic if you wanted to. With LoK, romance took a much bigger seat in the series and I suppose you could logically connect it to the youngest main character being 16 years old. The bloodbending/removing bending part is a little foggy, and I think using energybending to fix it was a little deus ex machina but that tends to be Bryke's style and I tend to let it slide off my back lol. Looks like for season 2 and onward, Mike teamed up with writers and Bryan's back to animatics so hopefully the writing will be a little more reminiscent of ATLA. tbph Avatar fans complain a LOT about things - myself included, though I like to think I lean more towards criticisms than whining. Either way, I love the series and I am EXCITED to see what pans out.
