Maybe it's just me, but it almost feels like Iroh spoke of the Avatar in very... comfortable terms? Maybe I'm not used to olden day speech, but I could see Iroh (if he's as young as I think) having interest in Korra.
Or Asami...
Or Bolin...jking
What does everyone else think?
Edit: Now that I think about it...if he were a competitor with Mako, that'd be kinda funny. Mako vs. Iroh. Haha, ha, ha...ha.

Iroh vs. Mako would be a nice touch of irony in the series.
I would love to see Iroh involved with one of the female characters. I think it would be good to see Mako have some competition. He needs to realize that he is not all that. Whether or not he has a relationship with someone, I'm really looking forward to exploring his character.

Funny thing you should say Bolin even if in a joking matterXD I actually do ship BolinxIroh 2.0 Yaoi wise and can't wait for some scenes between them. Girl/boy I like Korra with him, she deserves some one better than Mako bleh.

I like to think of it as an example of how "Some friendships are so strong, they can even transcend lifetimes" as Roku put it. Thats my take of it when I heard Zuko Reinacrnated. On a general note, I cant see any miniseries worth shipping over.

But Zuko is still alive... Was it confirmed in the series? With all due respect to Nickleodeon promotional material (which isnt that much truth be told), unless I see it confirmed by Bryke issued material, I will suspect him as dead.

I'd like to see Iroh and Asami, just because I really think she got a little screwed over by Mako and I feel bad...though he would look cute with Korra too. The only issue is that Korra and Mako dropped the love bomb,so how do you get around that? This will be fun drama if they go that route.

Nick's promotional material is kinda sketchy, but it was on the official site as part of the Republic City interactive city that included character biographies. Even if Bryke wanted him to be dead, I feel like there would be too much backlash against the series if they were like, "Nick lied, Zuko died" (harhar rhyme) now. Kinda like the scenario when the Avatar Extras said Zuko was originally supposed to be Katara's love interest or something. A lot of people don't buy it, but it would do more harm than good to say that it was a lie. But that's just me.

They could get around it easily enough. He's apparently an 87 year old guy wandering the world spreading the message of love and peace...anything could have happened to him that his family and friends don't know about.
Still I don't think Iroh is his reincarnation...he seemed kinda wistful when he thanked the statue of Aang...like he'd known him.
But, if you want to stick with the friendships transcending lifetimes thing, maybe he used to be Kuzon? Or Sozin...

They could get around it easily enough but it seems kinda ridiculous to say "he's alive oh but then he died of a heart attack randomly" lol. It could go either way though, and I agree. Looks like Iroh's at least in his mid, leaning towards late, twenties to early thirties possibly , so it's very likely he knew 'Great Uncle Aang' as at least a child. Definitely not a reincarnation lol.
If Zuko were to appear, I think it would be very brief - like Katara's appearance. I find it highly unlikely he'll monopolize the TV series.

If he had known Aang personally as a child, he would have would have referred to him as "Great Uncle Aang" . He would certainly never have addressed Aang on a first name basis anymore than Zuko would have his addressed his uncle Iroh on a first name basis even though they were clearly so very close. It may seem like a silly formality but in asian culture this form of respect is deeply instilled and I dont think Bryke of all people would have forgotten that. I dont seriously think they meant General Iroh as a reincarnation of Zuko but they put in the line simply as a wink and a nod to the old series seeing as they got the same voice actor to play General Iroh. Lets be honest, if Dante hadnt voiced General Iroh, the framing of the line would not have made any sense at all.

I don't know that Iroh would have referred to Aang as a great uncle just because he was a friend of his grandfather. Most likely if Iroh had been a young child he would refer to him in the same way he heard his family which would be just Aang or possibly Avatar Aang.

It may seem like a silly formality but in asian culture this form of respect is deeply instilled and I dont think Bryke of all people would have forgotten that. lol I know all about Asian culture; I'm a Chinese minor I'm kind of with ILZ on this one though. Aang technically wasn't Iroh's uncle, and I only said 'Great Uncle Aang' in jest due to the closeness of Zuko and Aang's relationship. Now, yes, traditionally family friends in Asian cultures even without a blood tie are called "Uncle/Aunt," but I could either see him referring to Aang respectfully as "Avatar Aang," and even then, I wouldn't say it's beyond Aang to say, "Don't call me that - just Aang is fine." But that's just my head canon. We could be overanalyzing the scene Avatar fans overanalyze a scene... say it ain't so, but it still looked to me like a nostalgic moment. I do agree though that it was more of a nod to Dante Basco's voicing of Zuko/the old series. Dante loves the Avatar project so I wouldn't be surprised if he was asking Bryke about an opportunity to work with them again before he got cast.
