Other than the lack of Bolin this episode it was pretty good, he did get a few good scenes too. Lin going down like that for the family was pretty epic! She really is like Toph in many ways, don't want the bending to come back it would be cool to see her fight witout them. All the kids fighting was nice and I really liked the animation. Now for the bad >>
That horrible love triangle and Mako connected yup. The love triangle is really brings every one down, I love Asami but during V.S Evil is no place for relationship issues, however I do understand why she'd do that as if she didn't they would never have been able to as its always the case some way or another. Mako, Mako, Mako *Sigh* What are we going to do with you? Each episode you always do some thing awful, whether to Korra or Asami or your brother Bolin. If only Mako would just stay single next season, he needs some alone time to figure things out but alas this was supposed to be one season and nothing is going to be left open so MakoxKorra=Endgame no matter how much it makes no sense. I mean, what does Korra see in him? Over all it was a good episode, I really look forward to the season finale and hope season 2 doesn't take too long to air.

i just watched this episode tonight. I just sat there stunned with an instant plethora of emotions that over took me when i saw Lin Bei Fong go down like that. I was just starting to love her character and best of all her fighting style, and now it has been taken away. I really hope that there will be some way to restore that bending power. Perhaps even, if the avatar could be the only one to restore someones bending. I really hope we find out how Amon takes away peoples bending, because i really want to find that out. Lastly, you all should had seen my face when i heard General Iroh speak.

I don't think Asami made an unreasonbly big deal about it. She didn't even say a word when Mako was comforting Korra as Air Temple Island was being raided/destroyed, or while they were searching for Korra after Tarrlok kidnapped her. If anything, I think she timed it as best she could considering the circumstances. And tensions were running high because of everything, so I can imagine most of her response was more of, "I'm tired, frustrated and feeling betrayed," instead of logical. idk if I would say Mako does anything "awful," either. He's an 18 year old guy who's confused, but unfortunately due to poor writing, his only "purpose" in the show is as a romantic interest for two girls. I kind of wish he'd take a break from all that and come to be a well-rounded member of the cast before all that mess, but we don't always get what we want lol.

Well it was a good episode with great animation, fight scenes, drama, and.... Plenty of facepalm moments. At least for me, also please excuse my posts. Its late and my thoughts aren't totally together.
This episode really seemed to kick the villain decay into overdrive. Remember near the start of the series? When Mako and Bolin together couldn't even scratch Amon lieutenant? Well now he and all of amon's troops get beaten down by little kids.
"Alright sure, he was surprised so I can buy Jinora defeating him... Ok so now all of these fearsome chi blockers (who are defeating the cities military police) are being taken out by one kid riding an air ball.... And what this? GAH now they are being defeated by farting!"
Ugh. Not ten minutes later, the lieutenant gets defeated. AGAIN. Easily, and without pause. I'm probably nitpicking here, but.... Sigh.
In any case it was great seeing Tenzin and Lin in action. Although I have to ask, am I the only one who thought Lin's sacrifice was unnecessary? Sure they were being followed but I would figure a sky bison would be if not faster, more maneuverable than a blimp and be able to lose the equalists, and lin was doing a grand job of preventing capture up until that point.
Also this last point is just a personal nitpick, but I didn't really like general iroh's voice. His voice does not fit his face (Imo of course) and giving him the same VA as Zuko is just maddening as I keep expecting to see Zuko when he speeks.

This was the first episode where I actually cried. When Lin said to Tenzin not to go back no matter what happens, the tearbending began and DID NOT STOP until I heard General Iroh's voice. The fight scenes were spectacular. Absolutely jaw-dropping. I was actually glad that I watched the episode on Nick.com this week because it meant I could rewind parts. Man, that fight choreography. Wow! I have no sympathy toward Mako. I think he needs to either let Asami go or focus on her instead of Korra. Asami's character still falls flat for me, but I care more about her than Mako at this point. I will say that Mako fighting the mechas was pretty cool though. I was disappointed that Pema went into labor in this episode. I really thought it would be saved for the finale. In this episode, it kind of felt like "OH HEY WE NEED MORE TENSION" and I honestly forgot that there was a baby on the way after the scene changed back to the fighting. Lin...
