To everyone confused about the metal box, this is the explanation.
The entire box is made of connecting/continuous metal, This allows the charge applied from the outside to travel through all the metal itsefl as a current, without affecting any charge of anything inside the box. This happens because charges rearrange in the box. Initially, I thought it was similar to birds being on a wire, because there's no change in electric potential from the bird's one leg to the other (Korra's one limb, to another), since the current is the same.
The box is called a Faraday's cage.

Oh, wow. Thank you for the explanation Horyo! I didn't know about the Faraday's cage, that's really cool. I just found a Youtube video of a German university student being protected from 100k volts in an example of it, and the guy from Top Gear in a car getting hit by 800k volts. It's still kind of scary though haha, but really cool.

No much needs to be said about the ep. On the rushing feel of the season... that's all on Bryke. I find it hilarious that Nick begged them for more eps. Instead of fleshing this arc to be character driven they seemed have something else in mind and are content with this rushed approach. Well, this wouldn't be the first time I disagreed with an approach Bryke took towards Avatar in terms of writing/character development. But, c'est la vie, what are you going to do? Horyo: Thanks for the explanation, I've never heard of that before and I know I wouldn't have thought twice about it before. lol I guess Bryke overlooked that little bit of science?
