Seeing as this book is titled "Air", what might the second book be titled?
"Spirit", perhaps?

Interesting question, the original series named them based on the element Aang was learning. However with Korra, Air is her last element but is the first book.
Spirit might be a good Book 2 since Korra is completely underdeveloped in this area. So far they haven't shown any progression in this area either. Throw in the fact that she seems not able to connect to the Avatar State other than in passing dreams, the next book would make sense to focus on this.

It's possible but I don't think so since of all the elements, Air and those who could bend it were the most spiritually adept in all the four nations. If Korra is to learn anything about spirituality it's from learning to airbend and to see things from the perspective of the Air Monks. I and many others believe that the main reason why Korra is thus far unable to airbend is because she lacks a connection to her spiritual side.
She's not introspective at all. She focuses on the physicality of bending rather than its spirituality. In essence I believe she was originally designed by the show's creators to mirror or be a metaphor for the schism of nature vs. science and materialism vs. spirituality of the current times in the avatar universe.
However we are seeing parts of her spirit nature begin to manifest itself throughout the series in her dreams and in her blackouts where she sees events of her past life through Aang's eyes. So there is that to consider.
Overall I believe the Book of Air that is season 1 is not just about mastering airbending but also learning what it means to be a master of both the physical and spiritual aspects of the Avatar. In essence to be in harmony or to seek balance with yourself and the world around you. So I think the theme and concept of the "spirit" should be well covered in the first season by my expectation despite most of it being focused on setting up the main conflict of the series. I believe Korra will be able to airbend by the end of this series and thus find her connection with her Avatar Spirit and thus Aang and her other past selves.
I'm pretty sure though that whatever the title of the next season will be regardless of whether or not it's "Spirit", will be interesting.

I think it's going to be "Water," both to continue the Avatar cycle and to cement Korra's place as the waterbending Avatar of this particular cycle.

Does anyone else think Tarrlok is going to be the major villain in book 2?

It's very possible, he's certainly being set up as one of the Main Bads. There are four episodes left for this season, and if the season is supposed to be mostly self-contained, I would guess that Amon would have to be taken care of in ep 11/12. But with what Tarrlok did at the end of ep 8, once the truth of that gets out, I don't understand how he could stay on the council. Unless he has such a following with the public, that he'd be be able to carry on politically anyway. Title-wise, it would certainly give another meaning to Book: Water.

Does anyone else think Tarrlok is going to be the major villain in book 2? It's possible though I have my doubts. Amon is the undoubted BBEG of the series. As remarkably antagonistic he is, Tarrlok was only ever a bit player IMO. The throwaway bad guy of the season who is more stumbling block than actual obstacle. My guess is he might make a return to season 2, but I also think its possible that he may fall and be the Admiral Zhao or Long Feng of this season. A mini-boss if you will for Korra to get some practice time on before her eventual showdown with Amon.

^ I agree. Tarlok is simply not as big a threat as Amon--he is not nearly as cool and clever as Amon. That said, he's a lot more fun to root against. Although he has "future dictator" flashing all over him, Amon nevertheless has a more sympathetic cause; Tarlok's cause is Tarlok.

I think Tarrlok might be a mini-villain but from what I understood, the entire first season was plotted out before it was renewed for a second season. It's gonna be even more of a mini-series than the first one was.

Man this is tough, it was easy for Avatar the original series cuz you knew it would be named after each element he had to learn. For this series its hard, I like the idea of it being called Spirit due to for many reasons as said. I hppe the crew travel this time, they can't stay in the same place the entire series can they?
