Plenty of people talk about the possibility of Jet surviving...even in the Avatarverse, being struck headon with a collumn of stone WILL kill a person (the physiological effect). Also, when Jet tells Katara to go ahead without him, that he'll be okay...Toph tells Sokka that he's lying. Another thing...Smellerbee seemed really close to Jet this episode. Could there have been a small SmellerJet (lol) relationship?

there is a Big Difference between Can Will Likely and Will
look at it this way, there are people that have survived getting hit by a car...
being hit by a moving outcropping of rock will probably have the same survivability.. less without the same medical technology

For some reason I have a feeling Jet isn't dead but I wouldn't be shocked if he were dead :/ Too bad though, I liked him.
And once and for all: Just because Toph said he's lying doesn't mean he is actually dying... Maybe he thought he was going to. I'm kind of confused about how Toph could sense him lying in this situation though. Usually people 'tremble' (can't think of the other word that fits better o.o,) perspirate, or their eyes dialate when they are nervous (lying.) I see no reason other than his injury for Jet to show any of these signs, no matter how miniscule and invisible they were. But then again, I know near nothing about polygraphs/lie detectors nor do I know much about how the human body performs when lying. I just know that it's possible to be nervous and show signs of lying when you're just nervous but telling the truth and to 'cheat' the lie detector by controlling yourself.
