I was surprised to see that there has yet to be a Glee thread.
I'm sure I'm not the only one here that watches this show! This show is amazing! Not only does it incorporate all genres of music, it touches upon all sorts of issues in teenage life.
Please people; DISCUSS! (:

Haha, I'll be honest, I can't really stand Glee anymore. I used to love it in the first half of the first season but when I try watching it now I just can't seem to stomach it. The characters are all so grating and I'm rather fed up with Kurt. His story is an important one to be told, but he's quite self-centered and always on the defensive. Of course, it's understandable, but it makes it no less annoying to me, especially when Burt is genuinely trying to be a good dad and understanding, and Kurt constantly has to make it all about him. Rachel and Finn and the drama there is also not my fave, even though I used to like them early on. Not to mention, the songs are just... IDK... and the storylines are just random. Too many message/theme episodes instead of focusing on the actual plot.
In my opinion, the show has an inflated sense of self, and that ego has caused its quality to suffer. But that's just my opinion. It might have gotten better, but I haven't watched for a few episodes. Also: Will Schuster would have and should have been fired. Repeatedly. He's emotional and like... hooks up with everyone. Not to mention his whole relationship with Emma... ugh... no me gusta. The only thing about this show I will never stop loving is Sue. Oh and Mike Chang. DEM ABS!
...Haha, wow, I sound like a bitter betty. I'll stop now.

^That's almost exactly how I feel about Glee right now. When it first came on, it was right up there with my favorite shows, but it is slowly sinking to the point where I don't even care if I watch it anymore. It started out as more comedy and now it's almost all drama. And it seems like the same stories are being told over and over again with just a minor difference here and there.

I've only watched a few eps because some friends kept pushing me to try it, yet I read the entire story on wiki already since I didn't really care about spoilers here. I'm going to leave it at those few eps. Glee is not really my cup of tea.
Everything I read was just drama, drama and some more drama. Too much "A loves B but B loves C while D loves A and C loves B back but after a while realises loves A all along." Eh it's just too unrealistic for my taste.
I do love the singing, though. Everyone in this show got an amazing voice! And I have to admit I sometimes like their adaptation of songs more than the original. F.e. Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. I love the Glee version a lot more. And it's not just the singing but the choreography as well.
@empy: Yes, Mike Chang is a cutie. ^^

My suitemates convinced me to watch a few episodes and I ended up watching the entire first season because it was on Netflix and I had nothing better to do. It was alright. I liked it a lot better in the beginning where the drama was mostly satirical, but the show seemed to get more and more serious about it as it went on.
It was better than I thought it would be, though. I went in thinking I would be completely unimpressed and ended up thinking it was mildly entertaining and the songs were pretty cool. Could be worse.

This show has my mom and I hooked! We absolutely love it. I love most of the songs they perform (the show tunes tend to get on my nerves), and the characters are wonderful. Puck has to be my favorite by far I just love how they take normal teen problems and incorporate the drama without making it a soap opera. Personally, I simply believe that it is a very cool, creative, entertaining show. However, it isn't for everyone.
