Uh, Naruto is a shounen manga so yeah, there's action.... I was getting tired of Sasuke, though. Poor Naruto. And Tsunade cried!!! I was hoping she'd do that!! (I like Tsuraiya)
Well yeah, I'm not expecting Kishi to make all his characters turn on the waterworks or anything. But sometimes I feel like Shippuuden is missing all the emotional dynamics that made the original series something special. Chapter 405 gave me a taste of that, so I was quite happy with it.
"It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale."
Isn't it amazing how well Kishimoto can manipulate our feelings?
Jiraya died and most of us went "noooo" but got over it.
Itachi died, and in the context given, we had a respect for him, but it wasn't as tearjerking as now. Kishimoto is able to craft just the right artwork to make us feel the emotion. In Itachi we felt confusion like Sasuke, and intrigue; in Naruto, we feel remorse and sadness.

I want more Sai action!!!
Just read ch. 406. I'm so excited for Kurenai!!! And I love Shikamaru more than ever now. It's so cute that he's giving Naruto a speech and the fact that he's going to be Kurenai's son's sensei is made of win.
