Ah, that's good news! Amira is at NYCC; I'm sure she'll let us know if she saw anything ATLA there. Thats great to know. Cant wait to hear what she has to say. Found another link that adds that the title will be quarterly and that each issue will be 80 pages and in the digest format. www.toonzone.net/news/articles/39091/nycc2011-dark-horse-comics-panel-highlightsSo we have 4 issues to look forward to next year!!

Oh wow, quarterly? That'll be neat. And 80 pages, that's a nice chunk for a story. I think I will quite like this format. ^^ Thanks for the link!

I didn't see anything on the new graphic novels coming out. But NYCC was kind of laid out strange in the exhibit hall. Traffic flow was kind of weird. So unfortunately I couldn't hang around booths that interested me and ask questions or get info.

Okay, this is sort of a dumb question, but when they say quarterly, that means a new part of the story every 3 months until all four are out, right? Like, 4 publications a year?

Okay so I'm a little foggy on this and lazy so I just made a halfhearted attempt to skim this thread and am not sure exactly what's going on, but anyways.....
Am I right in that 'The Lost Adventures' is a book full of stories that happened during the run of the series that we never saw?
And the one that comes out in January is what happens after Sozin's Comet?
And there's no other 'canon' comics coming out anytime soon?

@nymph, 'The Lost Adventures' contains the comics that appeared in Nickelodeon Magazine while the show was airing, like those comics that bridged seasons 2 and 3, as well as "new" comics that happened during season 3 but never got published. There's an old trailer for the new comics here on Youtube. And correct, "The Promise" which Part One comes out in January, follows what happens after the season 3 finale. And yeah, aside from the continuations of The Promise later in the year, there haven't been announcements for any other Avatar comics.

Oh, cool! Thanks for the update, Nandi. I like the cover art, and it's nice that Aang looks older this time around.

I just hope, given the synopsis and absence of Suki, that things don't lead to Tokka...because...as everyone around here must know...I feel Sukka was the only canon ship that Byrke got right.

I completely missed that! Hopefully, there just wasnt space in the story to fit it in. Along with the elections, Kataang will always go down as a highlight of my 2008 but I have a soft spot for Sukka too.

Ghaaa, adorable! I think they'll keep Sukka, they really made it seem like Sokka and Suki were supposed to have their happy ending in the finale, and that scene in Secret of the Fire Nation where they kiss after Sokka realizes it's okay to love someone other than Yue always resonated with me. It seems like they're supposed to stay together. They're also a good balance, I think. While Toph and Sokka both have a dominant "childish" side, Suki is sort of Sokka's foil. She brings out his mature, serious side, which I think is important. Also, I was on ff.net, and stumbled across this: www.fanfiction.net/s/7712395/1/Relief and in the author's note they talk the promise like they know what the promise *is.* I know fanfiction isn't necessarily a reliable source, but I was just curious, do we know anything about that yet? And was that preview from p1 or p2? **Nevermind, I figured it out. The whole part one was just leaked on 4chan
