I think M. Night just saw an AMV and made a movie from that.

Listen you! This thread is made for that small flicker that there will be a sequel. And as this is one of the top Avatar The Last Airbender forums, chances are he'll look here for what we want. So if you are a whiny pessimist who can't find it to help a director WHO IS DIRECTING AGAINST HIS USUAL GENRE leave now. Why would he look here? Or anywhere? He's going to do whatever he wants, whether we like it or not. I'm not being a 'whiny pessimist'. I'm being realistic; this man has tremendous ego and he's certainly not going to ask the fans of the original series for 'advise'. He's not doing this for the fans. He's trying to save his career, which has been in considerable decline and took a serious hit with 'TLA'. This is HOLLYWOOD and they are a business. They will do what they want and make whatever changes they want to a beloved established series even if it angers fans of the original material. All that matters to them is the bottom line. And I'll thank you to not get an attitude just because you don't like what I have to say.

I think everyone could use to take a few deep breaths and settle. No need for name calling or snapping, from either side.
Now, I think you're right akako in saying that Shyamalan won't read this thread, or any fan or critic's comments on how to improve the film series (which he probably won't make enough bank to convince Paramount to fund another film), BUT I think this thread still has the potential to be somewhere that people can say, "Well, if he did this, it would have been/be a better film." It doesn't necessarily have to be something we print and mail to him.

I'd just rather hear someone elses thoughts on how to improve something as opposed to hearing people complain. Even if they kept the delayed bending I think it would be somewhat better to have that on a larger scale similar to the giant wave. Seeing a bunch of earthbenders bend a small rock was sad but if it was the size of 6 foot building I probably wouldn't be upset.

I think for bending, a lot of what made it cool for me was how each form was based off a different form/style of martial arts. Water was smooth and flowing, and earth was raw and powerful. The whole movie was like...the chicken dance and then some rocks flew up.
