I think the episodes were spectacular because...it simply was lol.
The fight scenes were amazing, and the way the episodes could not have been done better (in my opinion).
Although I rate the episode spectacular as a whole...I will NEVER forgive Zuko for not only betraying Katara's trust...but for betraying Iroh the way he did, how could he EVER do something like that to the only person who has truly loved him (other than Ursa). Iroh was the one who was always there when Zuko needed him, and more.....I never would have expected this.
I'm sure that there will be some who will criticize me for this but....the possibility for Zutara is over.
And although I'm a heavy Kaanger, I'm not sure what will happen, since Aang was willing to give up his love for Katara...although the process wasn't totally complete
This season finale left major cliffhangers, unlike Book 1 finale *sigh* now we have to wait.

how dare you rate this episode horrible, you wouldn't be able to make a better finale...i can understand ur upset about some of the things that happened, cuz i definately am...but seriously, the episode wasn't horrible

For some reason, the episode felt almost the same as SotFN after I'd read all the massive spoilers, despite the fact that I hadn't even read the Guru spoilers on the Nick website. Well, apart from Zuko's betrayal.

I mean, really, it all felt like I'd heard it before. There was a thread about chakra on this site, then the Guru starts talking to Aang about it. Azula joining together with the Dai Li then betraying Long Feng was obvious. The idea of the cave as a prison had been suggested by someone here. Toph the metalbender was pretty clear after adding together a few PMX reports and LJ posts about knowing major spoilers. The 'giving up Katara' thing wasn't some kind of strange trick of the editing. Katara and Zuko got interrupted in the cave... of course that would happen. Aang nearly got killed in the Avatar State- that was basically confirmed by the 'last time on Avatar' segment, and I was pretty sure that'd happen even before then. The end was a bad cliffhanger... where have we heard that before? Sure, there were a whole bunch of fun little things (Toph's reaction to Iroh) that weren't really expected, but all the major plot twists felt too familiar...

...except one. The one twist I least wanted to happen. I seriously can't believe they did that to Zuko, after all the awesome development he's gotten this season. I'd rather have creepy-happy!Zuko than that... traitor. And creepy-happy!Zuko was scary, even if he made me go 'aww...' a few times. Zuko's development was a major element towards my liking for the show... and they threw it all away.

I can't say it's a bad episode. I'm just majorly disappointed, both in the deja vu feel, and the only thing that shocked me. And that's just not nice. It almost seems as if my feelings for the creators are tied with my feelings for Zuko... right now, I feel betrayed by all three of them (and if Zuko redeems himself early in Season 3 by turning on Azula, they'll be equally redeemed). They better have something incredible up their sleeves, because otherwise, I'll probably end up leaving the show with a bad taste in my mouth. T_T

I voted Spectacular. I really liked it despite the shocks.

It was awesome XD

It was a nice combination of comedy.. and fights.. and.. erm.. shocks..

am only rating as good everything was great and awesome until the halo2ish ending

am going to find the person that came up with cliffhanger and well....you get the idea am tired of cliffhanger it like a overuse cliché now and alot of director think ooo lets put a cliffhanger here it be good and then they comlpetely mess it up

The person who voted horrible probably isn't going to post anything.

I said spectacular because just the animation made my heart twitch. I love how they have made Azula more like a character and less like a... impersonal villian. Zuko was WTF? on all levels!! Literally I dropped my nahos and Sprite on the floor and just stared... just stared. Even though Zuko made a bad decision, that was excellent!

I voted "Spectacular" for obvious reasons.
I think it has topped the Season 1 finale, in my opinion.
Now, when is Season 3 coming out?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
