I was told that Koh the face stealer was going to be represented as a spirit dragon who was also going to be taking the roles of Roku & Fang in The Last Airbender movie. I am not quite sure what this means, but I would like to know what your opinions are on this matter.

I am aware of the Spirit Dragon, but where did you hear that it was Koh?

I also heard the same, over on a different forum. It has been reported that the Spirit Dragon is a mixture of Koh, Fang, and Avatar Roku. The Spirit Dragon guides the Avatars (as Roku, and arguably Fang, guided Aang). As for the part that concerns Koh, the Spirit Dragon reportedly curls around Aang as Koh did and scrapes against the wall eerily, indicative of Koh elements.

May be true since Koh barely had a role to play in the series. I would have preferred to of had Koh as he is in the series since he would of be pretty creepy especially in full CG.

I'm so there with you! Koh was my third favourite character. He would have looked great in CG, but would it have been too impossible to do, and so they went with a dragon? I, personally, believe that's very generic and also very vague. I'm not a big fan. I'm sure it'll turn out fine in the final product, but I really would have loved to see Koh. One of the greatest points in the finale, let alone the series.
(Oh, and your point about him barely having a role is true. But, is that opposed to a creature that NEVER had a role in the series...? Did they hope to kill three birds with one fail of a stone? -_-)

it's quite sad that koh wont be in the movie...but i feel that it was necessary to not include him....i mean..he said "We'll meet again"..but we never see him in the show after the season 1 finale...so, unless he had a major part in the other seasons (like Spirit Fang, Roku's Dragon) he shouldn't have been vital to the script. and i believe that they are trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by introducing Fang at the end rather than 2 times in the movie (cuz of The Spirit World episodes). There is a time limit...and not a lengthy one at that...i just hope they don't try to cram too much stuff into the people who haven't even seen the show..it would make them confused!!! lol

Well, the dragon in the movie isn't even Fang! It's a combination of Fang, Roku, and Koh. (Roku won't even be in the movie, at least not as a notable character. As with Azula, there is a stand-in, Ben Cookie, a stunt man. He would most likely provide a silhouette of Roku fighting.) Now I can only think of the marvel CG Koh would be. How terrifying! Maybe that's why? If he wanted to market it to families, seeing as M. Night's movie is already dark, Koh would have been pushing it? I suppose we'll never know. (Though I really would like to know!)

Hm, a source isn't mentioned in that answer. I haven't heard anything regarding Koh or the Spirit Dragon taking his place, but weren't there production notes on the movie released... somewhere online? I didn't look at it, but maybe it was mentioned in there. I'll see if I can find it. edit: Here we go. (PDF) No mention of Koh, or the dragon taking his place. *shrugs* Anyway, Koh would be amazing in CG, and he's certainly possible to create. I think the reason of leaving him out because he didn't play a big part in the series is.... I mean, almost everyone aside from the main cast and baddies would fall into that group. Time constraints I understand, and considering how ILM's Airbender team has made Appa bizarrely more frightening, I imagine their version of Koh could potentially alter the movie rating. I mean, if Appa looks like this, what would Koh be like?

When they said they were making a movie, I wondered if they were going to bring Koh into the picture. If that is the way they are doing it I am a little let down, but somethings have to be changed. And if that is the biggest thing that they change out of characters then I am not to worried. I to be honest don't really trust that website, I'll just have to go see the movie and see exactly what happens with everything.

Azula's not going to be in any of the movies, or just this one? because there's going to be three... (Unless this turns into a Golden Compass thing ) If she's not in this one that's okay, cause the only clip you see of her is that the end with her on a ship so :'P
