I hope so. I know translating from animation to live action will change things but Dev's "scar" doesn't even look like a burn scar. I got a iron burn the size of a Starburst once and that looked more like Zuko's scar that that close up of Dev/Zuko. I know a guy who kinda fell into a fire when he was little...so he has burn scars on his face...and they look nothing like Zuko's. Though they're much smaller, they're completely white, like there's no pigment there at all... *EDIT* Full length Zuko...note lacky carrying the Princely Helmet... from LastAirbenderFilm.comOMG! The mike's in the picture! I gotta say...I'm loving that coat

I like how they kept the red in the armor, wish they could have added some to the helmets.

And the eyes! Zuko has to have his beautiful honey-gold eyes! Or else he's not Zuko

Nevermind Zuko. Look what they did to Aang's arrow!

I actually don't mind the arrow...be nice if it was a bit bluer...but the henna swirls are nice.

ughhh I've been trying to avoid movie stuff because of this fear of the movie simply not living up to the show. And I'm beginning to feel that way.
*insert fan based hate for the directer rant*
So ya I'm not happy or very sure how this will turn out.
As someone on live journal said. Post production better be good.

First episode Finale episode Looks pretty much the same to me... Score one for you, then. I could swear it wasn't that bad in the beginning. Anyway, it certainly is true that no two burns are exactly alike. While his burn may have turned out that way in the show, there's no saying it would have turned out exatly that way if it were to have actually happened. Fire is unpredictable. It could cause paralysis and completely blacken 90% of the flesh of one person, possibly even to their demise, while another person caught and affected by the same fire could show no outward signs on their visible flesh not hidden by clothes, but places where their clothes burned away show evidence of being burned and both people having lung damage from all the smoke. Or am I thinking about acid? Either way, I'm not too worried how Dev's scar turned out/will turn out. Dig the coat, though. I would like to have that coat. Although I can honestly say I feel that the kid they have playing Aang, whatever his name was, =/= Aang. The "real" Aang really was 12, technically 112, but this kid just looks way too young.

Hate to break it to ya, but twelve year olds look different in the real world.

This pics got have got me excited again! I just might need to go back and re-watch the series again, it's been a few months now. I think they both look great, and the cartoon to live action translated well. I didn't expect Zuko's scar to be that big anyway, I mean really. I say the adaption of the two characters went as well as 85% true to the way they look.

Dude, why couldn't they just paint a blue arrow on his head instead of this intricate thing that made me think I was looking at a young Combustion Man at first? >.< I can barely see that as an arrow. I'd prefer the scar be more prominent, but I can live with it like this. It'll bother me a bit, but it's alright. The non bald ponytail thing makes me mad though.

I have to remind myself that the movie is to please the mainstream audience. Theres no way its going to please pride and true fans so Dev looks alright to me just needs a bit of a darker red scar. And Noah actually looks alright as Aang. I really worried about how appa turns out.

On Aangy's age......logically, if they had cast a pubescent 12 yr old, that means in that last movie, he would be all deep-voicey and like 16-17ish. Honestly, the most pre-pubescent talented kid they could get would be best, because otherwise movieAang will turn into the magical puberty kid: the show "books" only occur within a span of less than a year...movieAang would be squeaky voice one day and then manly the next. ACK.
Alright...so. I keep hearing people say that "this is not like the show..." and like, no movie adaption is EVER going to be totally true to it's source, ESPECIALLY given the source is a cartoon. I feel like creative interpretation is to be expected. This isn't the Avatar we know and love, but given a chance, us fans might find that it holds the same heart of the story: the same thematic hero's struggle, the same concept, just slightly different. Plus, not to mention, by default, a season of a show cannot be compressed into movie; it's physically impossible. Come at this movie with an open mind, or else it's inevitable that it'll be hated by fans. The only way to approach it is with the mind that it's creative interpretation and maybe will be spectacular. Or it could destroy Avatar from the center out. But, given that Bryke likes it so far, I'd say we might be in the green zone. High hopes!

Hate to break it to ya, but twelve year olds look different in the real world. I know that, but this kid, he looks way young. Like 8 years old young. Maybe it's because I've always been told that I look older than I am, and sometimes I really do believe I look older than I am, so everyone else looks, to me at least, younger than they are. I'm always under estimating people's ages. I haven't really said a word against this whole thing other than the race issue and the age of the kid playing Aang. I don't think the movies're going to be terrible, not entirely what older fans like myself might hope, but still not terrible, but I do have concerns about the actual bending. Sure, we have computers to take care of that, but how would it look as live action occurences? They still should have used Asian people.
