SO! It's Auri here! You have the Wii and you are SEVERELY yearning some Role-Playing games! You might have Okami, Super Mario Galaxy, or No More Heroes, but you want something more...JAPANESE RPG-ish. Well, there's Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. But, that isn't enough to satisfy me. I'm wanting MORE. Well, here's Arc Rise Fantasia!
Since copying and pasting from Wikipedia is absolutely uncreative and boring, I'll sum it up in my own words!
FIRST UPDATE: Arc Rise Fantasia will be an RPG for the Wii. (YAY, RPG-thirst for Wii owners will be quenched!) It is turn based, meaning that each character will take his turn fighting, much like Final Fantasy. You have a pool of ACTION POINTS from which all your own characters draw. Action points can be given to a single member only to give them multiple chances to attack or they can be distributed evenly or unevenly, as needed. Of course, the AP pool will fill again once the turn has ended (I assume and dearly hope so...) You'll have parties of three, and I'm preeeeetty sure the party members won't be able to be changed within battle, if we compare Arc to the other J-RPGs.
From what little Japanese I can read, the official Japanese site calls the battle system Semi-Real Time. Although the game is played in turns, both characters and enemies will execute their given commands at the same time, much like a Real Time game. This means your character could potentially die while saying incantations for a spell...I think.
Like I said, I know a LITTLE Japanese, so I hardly think this is correct...But
the official site says something about cages and gems. I think the cages and gems are used to learn new magic and combining gems of different elements create new elements, but I'm not entirely sure...
The game has something called "Tandem Connect" but that's just about the ONLY thing I CAN read on that page, besides the word CHARACTER. DX
You will be able to do Excel Acts, which, I think, is the game's equivalent to magic. It requires a certain percentage of SP and a little AP to execute. I'm not sure how to accumulate SP, but just as a guess, it's derived from being hit as well as hitting. AREN'T I SO ACCURATE?
Trinity Acts do something blah blah blah.
There's something about Amphose and weapons. I think that if you put something in the little boxes, you can change the type of weapon and I think even the skills you can use. But hey, this is all coming from a dude who thinks he knows Japanese.
Apparently, there are also summoned characters known thus far as, "Roguresu."
UPDATE: (Site: February 20, 2009), (Thread: February 21, 2009)
The site updated! It has a new layout, two new BGMs, more characters, new Battle info along with newly attached movies <squee>, the gallery has been updated with another trailer, a new heading, "Subsystem" has been added with "Library" and "Quest" subheadings, and "Special" section with an interview entirely in Japanese~!
BUNCHA NEW PICS AND MOVIES~! <<FANBOY SQUEEEEEE>>
UPDATE: (Site, March 6, 2009) (Thread, March 9, 2009)
Not much other than added voice samples for L'Arc and Ryfia, and some extra videos on battling, and ROGURESU.
*******************
Not many official names for the characters have been given, so I'll be making PREDICTIONS as to how they will be translated! The romaji for their name will be given on the left while my predictions will be given in between dashes on the right. (Yes, I've seen some of the names other sites have given it, and I admit, that's what I used on some of them.)
<<Original>>
Raruku Buraito Raguun -L'Arc Bright Lagoon- (MAN WHAT A SUCKISH NAME!)
Rifia -Ryfia-
Adeeru Nevarinna -Adelle Neverinna-
Arufonsu "Arusu" Zena Meridia -Alphonse "Alse" Zena Meridia- (I dunno how Alse connects to Alphonse, but whatever.)
Seejyu -Sage-
Resurii Furahati -Leslie Fulahatti-
Seshiru Garushia -Cecille Garcia-
Vaisu Dona Meridia -Vise Donnah Meridia-
Nikoru Benekkusu -Nichol Bennecks-
Roguresu -Rogreths-
<<Feb. 21, 2009>>
Rasutana Oigen -Rastana Oegen-
Beerya -Belia-

So! Any other dorkuses out there to anticipate a game with me~?!
