Okay, so I'm addicted to this game.
It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played in my whole life. The graphics are decent enough that I'm not craning my neck to figure out what something is and the plotline is fantastic.
It's turn-by-turn which I'm fond of, but, one thing I like is that, while it's not your turn, the scene shows your characters and the monsters still going at it! Everyone always misses but it beats the other RPGs where everyone literally stands there.
It's amazing.
And Vyse is kinda hot...

Yeah, Skies of Arcadia Legends is one of my favorite games. My favorite characters? Drachma and Gilder.

Gilder isn't in it all that much, but I definitely agree he's pretty funny. Drachma makes me want to read Moby twig. Fina is kinda adorable in a weakling little healer girl way. (Almost every game has some tiny little thing like her though) but she does, eventually, kick butt with the magic and her final SMove is amazing. She could literally be down for the count, one hit point, and as long as you've got 18 spirit on hand.... BANG! Everyone's revived with all their MP and everything. Aika is probably my second favorite. She's the tough little tomboy. And her obsession with food is classic, but still funny. Vyse, though, is my favorite. He kicks butt and takes names. Enrique is pretty funny too. Him and his obsession with the chinese-lookin girl. They do make a cute couple. I haven't actually beaten the game yet, but I'm close. I have all the moon crystals. And I gotta look for Fina's boat "under the clouds. I don't know if that had to be in spoiler tags but it seemed appropriate... It's a fairly easy game to get into, likeable characters, but if you want to engross yourself in the subplots and discoveries and stuff, it makes it even more challenging.

I've already beaten the game at least twice by now, so there's nothing you can say about it that would be a spoiler for me. Though, there are a few crew members I'm missing. It's not so much I don't know how to recruit them. It's that I don't know who they are. Yeah.

There's a crew recruitment FAQ on GameFAQs.
I looked it over.
I need to go to Maramba and Nasrad.

Ah, I'm not too worried about it. I'm not even playing a system it's compatible with at the moment. Though I would like to know who the two I'm missing are. I wonder who it could be in Maramba?

Isn't this game for the Gamecube? I think I saw one of them in the Hasting's used/clearance video games. Can I get information from any of you guys as to how it works and what kind of storyline to expect?

Sure thing!
Okay, so you are Vyse the Blue Rouge. The Blue Rouges are a group of air pirates, but they're the good guys. Your best friend is Aika. Your dad is the capitain of the Blue Rouges. You've always dreamed of having your own ship one day and sailing through the skies. Well, one day, your father and his crew gets kidnapped by the Valuans - aka, the bad guys who are trying to take over the world. You and Aika go rescue him. Then, shortly after, a girl named Fina crash lands somewhere that you happen to be (it's been a while since I played the beginning so I'm trying to get this from memory) and everything explodes from there. She is a Silvite, a group of people that no one ever sees because they live right by the Silver Moon.
By the way, there's 6 moons, all different colors.
Fina was sent to retrieve the 5 moon crystals (the 6th is owned by the Silvites) which are powerful little gems that, if in the wrong hands, could probably destroy the world.
That's the main plot of it all. It's so amazing. The game is decently long, the controls are not hard at all, battling is turn-based, and the graphics are decent. I've clocked about 30 playing hours so far and I'm still not done, so it's definitely worth the money (my dad's basic rule of thumb for that is $1 per hour or more).
There's tons of stuff to do so you never get bored. I highly recommend it.

Isn't this game for the Gamecube? I think I saw one of them in the Hasting's used/clearance video games. Can I get information from any of you guys as to how it works and what kind of storyline to expect? Well, it's not so much that Dyne, that's Vyse's father, is THE over-captain of all the Blue Rogues. There're all sorts of other crews of Blue Rogue pirates, each ship with it's own captain, although Dyne is the most famous Blue Rogue. Through the course of the game, you're prompted to make choices on what to do, this is done by selecting a line for Vyse to say, and depending on your choices, your rank as a pirate rises or falls, to the exception of one point in the game, where it automatically drops from where ever you'd gotten it to to "Vyse, the Fallen Pirate." If you'd been doing the Bounty missions, a great way to earn XP and Gold if you fight them at higher levels, you'll be able to fight a group of imposters as a Wanted battle and restore Vyse's status from that to whatever you had before. Through the course of the game, if you fight every battle, or at the very least don't run from a whole lot of fights, and make good choices, Vyse's rank rises from "Vyse, the Blue Rogue" to "Vyse, King of Rogues." Run from too many battles, and you'll be known as "Vyse, the Coward." As you go, your Wanted status by the Valuan Empire, the main antagonists for three-quarters of the game, rises from one star to four, the most wanted pirate in the world. The six moons are Silver, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, and Purple, each with it's own land beneath it, although the true Silver Civilization is on that moon itself. The other civilizations beneath the moons are the Valuan Empire beneath the Yellow Moon, Nasr beneath the Red Moon, Ixa'taka beneath the Green Moon, Yafutoma beneath the Blue Moon, and Glacia (At least I think that's what it is) beneath the Purple Moon. Each moon affords the world a different type of magic. Silver magic functions as resurrection and status-curing magic. Yellow magic is largely high-powered, area effect offensive magic. Red magic is mostly multi-enemy to every enemy offensive magic at it's most powerful spell. Green magic is mostly healing magic. Blue magic is mostly support magic. Purple magic is mostly inexpensive SP-wise but effective single-enemy to multi-enemy offensive magic. Each spell, regardless of classification, costs only one MP and a certain number of SP, which has a direct effect on the actions your characters can take. The more SP you have, the more effective techniques your characters can pull off. Magic is mastered by gaining Magic XP in battle, and the XP is awarded to the classifications, Silver, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, or Purple, each character has equipped to their weapons, to a possibility of learning four types of magic at once, although you can change elemental properties of weapons in mid-battle to make them more effective against certain types of enemies, each type of magic and elemental property has it's own strengths and weaknesses against the others. Magic XP is gained alongside regular XP, enabling characters to learn more powerful spells as they level up, think Final Fantasy 1, where you leveled up and gained new spell levels at certain character levels. This was taken almost directly from Dungeons and Dragons, which has a similar magic system. Skies of Arcadia's magic system is similar to that. And believe it or not, Skies of Arcadia was originally released on the Dreamcast, but ported by Sega, who made it, to the Gamecube with new features. Exactly what's new in the Gamecube version from the original Dreamcast version, I don't know.
