Hyana winced as a fire-scarred part of her arm brushed the cobblestones as she bent down to pick up the package. She quickly straightened up again, brushing off her dress. "Oh, I'm so sorry to bother you!" she said in a flustered tone. Hyana put the important package in her basket gingerly. She tucked a loose piece of hair behind her ear, then continued, " Hello, my name's Hyana Kino. Are you new to Lotus City?" Hyana flashed a cheerful smile.

Saiki was momentarily distracting by Abeni, and didn't see where Ikram put the pouch. She put her hand absently on Abeni's head. "Are you all right?...I didn't hurt you did I?" Saiki shook her head, she had only been startled. "I'm fine." He seems...concerned, I suppose. I guess outsiders stick out around here. And his smile appears genuine. But what was with that bag? The way he made it disappear as soon as I noticed it..... A whimper from Abeni reminded Saiki of the child's presence. She must be starving by now, Saiki thought. Normally she would just walk away and find food on her own, but this was a strange place and she wasn't alone. Taking a deep breath, she decided she had no choice but to trust this suspicious character, at least for a little bit. "Do you know where we could get some food? We don't have much money but..."

"Food? Yeah, yeah - I can definitely help you there." He didn't have anything to do, anyway, and showing someone around the city was just enough like showing off to suit him fine. "Hmm. Let me think." He scratched the back of his head, trying to think of somewhere cheap enough to take them. He actually thought of offering to help out a little - it wasn't technically his money, anyway - but wasn't sure how her pride would take that.
"What about the Blue Moon? It's not expensive and they have - " He stopped suddenly, looking down at the little girl. Then he laughed half-sheepishly. "Then again, a tavern probably isn't the best place for a kid like her. I... Oh! Got it." He grinned. "There's a great little place in North Petal I could take you to."
Ikram realized, however, that he might be coming off as too forward. As much as he'd like to take them out for a meal - he wasn't one to say no to spending time with a half-attractive anyone - the woman would probably prefer getting food and then heading off to wherever she was staying.
He smiled charmingly. "But you're probably tired. I know a nice market where you can buy a few necessities for a good price. That sound good? I'm free, so I don't mind giving a quick tour."

"A pleasure to meet you Hyana!" Noa bowed abruptedly never failing a lively greeting, "The name's Noa." He then wrapped his arm tightly around Hati, "and lovery Hatuson." He made an effort to say her name as proper as possible mostly to impress. Not giving Hati time to respond herself Noa went on, "and yeah! we're new. Just got here an early moment ago. We were heading to...uh." Noa furrowed his brows with a finger to chin. He turned to Hati, "So where were we heading to again, Hati?"

"That would be fine," Saiki replied with a nod. It was always a good to know where to buy supplies, and she needed to get a few things anyway. She looked down at Abeni, wondering what the child liked to eat. "That sound good to you?" she asked quietly.

"Well, if you're really new, Noa, you have to get a house or a room quickly. Space's going up like star fireworks, because the Festival of Stars is almost here. My aunt is offering space above her shop, if you'd like," Hyana offered, a genuine smile on her face. I guess the man is nice enough, plus... I don't know, I can't help but be hospitible. "Then again, if you did accept, you'd probably have to work your back off," she added with a laugh.

Matsu was silent, just letting Fenny drag him along for the ride. Blood poioning, what was that? He frowned softly and gripped his shoulder tightly, wondering where this healer was.
Abeni nodded, that sounded okay to her, and now she was hungry. "Where's Geming?" She whispered.
Hati stiffend her grip on Noa and frowned slightly at Hyana. "No, thank you." She interjected quickly. "We're going to find somewhere to live on our own, closer to the inside of the city where the people with..better tastes live."

"Where's Geming? Saiki cursed silently; she had forgotten about him. It's not as if she could tell the child that he was a madman and had been arrested. "We'll find him later. Let's get some food," she replied, looking up at Ikram in an indication that they were ready to go to the market.
Huojin was already well into her daily routine, pouring some general poultices into small clay jars for customers. She had risen early, with the sun, and done the series of exercises and stretches that she performed every morning. Her herbs from the night before had dried nicely, and a few were being boiled into an infusion for a patient with stomach troubles. Houjin was expecting the man's wife to stop by somewhere around midday to pick up the medicine, so until then she would keep herself busy with everyday chores and later on the finishing touches for the firecrackers.

Ikram smiled at the woman. "Sure!"
He slowly led them through the bustling people, towards the market. It wasn't very far away, but he didn't want either of them to get lost. "The city might seem confusing at first," he said, "but really it just takes getting used to. After living here a little while, you'll know your way around no problem." He led them around for another minute or two, until finally they came to the small, open-air market.
"Here we are," he said gallantly. "By the way... What's your name?"

"Good luck with that," Hyana said sarcastically, frowning back at Hati. "My aunt's shop is over there. The center of the city is booked to the max with people. If you maybe wanna live in a stable with geese and hay and stuff, well then be my guest. Good day to you." As she turned around to walk back the other way, she slippped a card with the name and adress of her aunt's shop into Noa's bag. Then, Hyana skipped away, smirking slightly at a vision of that stuck-up girl's face when she was forced to sleep in a trash can.
(( Sorry, Elizabeth! Hyana's sharp tongue got the best of her/me. ))

"Right then. Thanks." Fenny turned away from the woman, who was already busy with another tourist. She showed Matsu the little map, which at first glance probably could have been mistaken for one of the floral designs painted on the walls. "She says the healer has a clinic in South Petal, here." Fenny pointed to an X the woman had drawn on the map with a bit of colored chalk. "We just follow the main road past the fields and into town, no problem!"

"By the way... What's your name?" Saiki stared at the wide assortment of goods and foods for sale. She hadn't imagined that such a variety of produce could be grown in a desert. "Saiki," she replied distractedly, looking around for a stall that didn't seem to expensive. Her eyes fell on a fruit stand, piled high with ripe produce. That'll do, she thought. She took hold of Abeni's shoulder and started to turn her in the direction of the stand, giving Ikram a quick nod of thanks.

Ikram waved a feeble "you're welcome" as Saiki turned towards the stands. "I'll be here in the market if you need me," he called, wondering if she had things covered from there.
He wandered over to a nearby stand and began purusing - he didn't need anything, but he certainly didn't mind wasting a little time.

Hau poked her head out of the door to her shop, irked that business was slow today. She had heard a caravan had arrived in the city recently, and surely they needed new clothes for the Festival! So why wasn't anyone stopping to buy her cloth?!
Frustrated, she retreated back into the shop and behind the counter, impatiently drumming her fingers on the wooden surface.

"Uh, thanks," Noa said automatically when Hyana slipped him a card and went her merry way. He pulled the card out of his bag. "Oh this is neat," Noa said. He was intrigued by the idea of adverstisements compacted into little cards. The thought of not getting someplace to stay (and the nifty business card) was enough to be swayed by Hyana's advice.
He shifted his eyes at Hati before turning his face. "You know Hati, it might be a good idea just to check it out first. If there's still vacancy we can just book it right away just to be safe. And then afterwards we can explore the city and if we find a different place you like...with room...we could switch anytime."
Noa really didn't mid wandering the city all day as long as he could find a place a stay. A stable with geese and hay would in fact, though sitll be considered a luxery to him in is experience. Nonetheless something told him that Hati wouldn't exactly be too excited for that.
