i was bored one day on the computer trying to work on my fan fic when i realized it was a total flub, i read it over and realized it was a complete Mary- sue, so i decided to stop writing it because it was not going anywhere. i opened a new document on Microsoft word and just started typing another story but i have no idea where it is going, tell me what you think and i will try to add more to it.
Aang sat against the wall of the large room, maybe too large only for one person’s workspace. Highly decorative carvings in the ceiling and walls. Curtains draped over false windows or just hung on the wall for looks. Bright colors of red, orange, and yellows in any shade you can fathom. As if the room was on fire in the most spectacular way of interior designing. It seemed a bit much for one person’s workspace, even if it was the Fire Lord’s.
Zuko sat at a desk in the far middle of the room. The desk too, was over decorative. Looking at scrolls and pieces of parchment his eyes wide open seemed consumed in his work. Scratching down notes as he went from paper to paper. But the interest in his work was fake. He glanced over at Aang still sitting up against the wall. He seemed to be air bending tiny puffs to try to keep small piece of lint aloft. Zuko broke the silence and spoke to Aang as just an excuse to stop working for a moment.
"Aren't you going to help me with this?" Zuko asked Aang from across the room.
"You said that you would tell me if you need help. That’s way I am in here, in case you do need help." Aang paused for a moment to wait for Zuko's respond but Aang began talking before Zuko could get out a word. “And it dose not seem like you need help, so I think I will be going.” Aang turns to walk out the door but stops to make a suggestion. "Hey maybe we can go visit your uncle? Sound like fun?"
"I can't."
"But..."
"Aang, I am the fire lord now, that means I can’t just go on little vacations just because. I have a country to take care of. That means I have to choose doing boring paper work to make sure every ones happy, over going to Uncles Tea shop. I am sorry Aang." Zuko sat back down and continued his work.
Aang felt sorry for bring it up; he could see that Zuko really did want to go.
It had been over a month since Zuko had seen his uncle now that he lived in Ba Sing Se.
Aang left the room and headed for the garden. He walked over to a tree that seemed to be in the perfect spot by the pond. He leaned up against it and watched the turtle ducks in the pond swim and play as if all was right in the world, but all was right, right? Oazi defeated and Azula put in her place everything should be fine? "Every thing is fine, then why do I feel so…" . Aang let a deep sigh out, feeling a presence in the area he hoped some one would hear and ask if every thing was all right.
"Sounds like that should of come from me. Zuko’s been so busy lately I have not been able to spend much time with him. Whats wrong with you? you miss you girlfriend, because she went to visit her family in the South Pole?"
"Every thing is just so different now. No more riding across the world on Appa with every one or getting in to hilarious situations, not even dangerous situation that might not seem hilarious at the time. I don't mean to sound like it, but this is boring!” Aang raised his hands above his head to show his frustration. He brought them back to his side and looked down. “I had something amazing to do, to save the world, and that's all gone and been done. And know I'm stuck as Zuko’s little helper! Aang kicked the ground and noticed a baby turtleduck swim away in fear. “What’s…what’s someone to do when they have already fulfilled their destiny?”
“hummm…I really would not know, I'm not actually the kind of person to ask.” Mai walked out of the garden, Aang noticing her dismissal a few minutes later.
Aang slouched up against the tree, he slid down the smoothed trunk, as if some one many times before sat underneath its shade. His eyes grew heavy as he stared at the rippling pond. He recalled only one small yawn before drifting off to sleep
“Aang, you have done well and have surpassed many avatars before you, even me.” The former avatar stood in front of Aang with a smile. Aang stood on what seemed like thin air, but a small mist beneath his feet showed a ground surfers.
“But Roku that’s just it, I done my part, I‘ve defeated Oazi and ended the war. What is there left for me to do? It’s the Avatar’s duty to maintain balance in the world, but it seem the world has been doing just fine on its own.”
“Yes Aang you have fulfilled your destiny, but do not mistake the completion of a destiny as the end of your purpose. You are still very young and have many more destinies ahead of you, some not as important as others, but they will come in time. For now though I understand how difficult it must be for you to adjust to every day life again. But it seems not only you have some life adjustments to make, the new Fire Lord has made many personal sacrifices for his country, and his destiny, has only just begun.”
Aang felt a push at his shoulder, and then it turned into a shove. “Aang, wake up!” Aang, startled, air bends him self up quickly and hits a low limb on the tree. He rubs his head in pain as he looks at Zuko who woke him up.
“It’s late you should be getting to bed.” Zuko looks partly down, but his expiration was hard to make out in the nights dim moon light.
“Right would not want to sleep through that.” Aang, hand still on his head, starts for the garden gate towards his room. He glimpsed back at the pond and realizes Zuko had sat beneath the same tree.
