I'm not sure if I like how the first article describes Aang (irresponsible and reluctant, should stop his "selfish wandering"?). Hopefully, that's not how they portray him in the film as well.
So, based on the second article, they've already casted the roles for the movie? Interesting, although I was hoping that it would be an open audition for the fans as well. But then, they'd have to sit through a huge line of people... so here's hoping that the actors and actresses they chose were good for the parts.

Wow! PG-13? The show's rated Y7, isn't it? Why the heck would it be PG-13?
Live-action... *groans and flops onto random sofa*

^What's wrong with PG-13? It has a little more room to work with than y7, right?

I'm not liking the way they called Aang "selfish". He was frozen for god's sake. But yeah, I'm actually getting really excited about the movie! 2010, feels so long away..

Hm, well it might be better if they alter the story a little--it would make his version a tad bit more original. Personally, I hoping they don't make it detail for detail; it'll be nifty to see Avatar in a darker, more adult-like theme.

They're shooting in Vietnam? Well, that's a surprise. I'm trying to think of any of the locations in Season One with massive jungles. I know Jet might count...but other than that it was more field/pastures/desert places right?

At first, all he wanted to do is pinguin sledging, riding, the elephant koi and abusing the Omashu mail system. At the end of episode 2, he mentions a lot more of stuff that he wants to do before going to the north pole to learn waterbending I don't really care what the rating will be. I'm old enough to watch anything^^ But i don't wanna see Aang killing at the same speed as rambo. As long as the violence is kinda like in the show it will be fine.

Shooting in vietnam is a little strange no where in the avatar world is very jungle like except the sun warrior temple. The earth kingdom is generally very arid and rocky (or maybe that was more s2) except places like the swamp or Jets forest which was definatly temperate deciduous forest, not very vietnamese. Although the rice paddys would make a pretty backdrop

^What's wrong with PG-13? It has a little more room to work with than y7, right? Yeah, maybe, but what if they get totally excited and go really overboard? No gorey messes, pwease. Now they have to find someone really hot and Asian to play Zuko...

One: Oh, I didn't know it was a three parter! That makes me sad (Have to wait longer for two other parts) But happy (More to look forward two) At the same time! Two: If the guy who plays Zuko is not hot.. I'll kill myself... I mean, I guess it wouldn't matter much in the first movie because he still has that ugly ponytail... but in the second and third movie... he has to be hot!!!! Three: I do think it should only be PG because little kids will want to watch this even though Avatars fan bace has a lot of Teenagers... I would be able to see it even if it was PG 13... but I am just thinking about the kids...

I may have to agree with the irresponsible and reluctant part, but I'm not sure about the selfish part.
But anyway, PG-13 wow that could make it pretty cool. I was a bit concerned about how they'd do it as a PG or less, it would take away from it I think, but to make it the "13" may just attract some more viewers. I may be starting to get a bit excited about it, but it is two years away so I'm not getting ahead of myself!
I do hope that we all come back to the board to talk about the movie as it nears and plays in the theaters though.....I can't wait to hear all the reactions!

PG-13 barely allows any blood. The Matrix got R, and that had very minimal mature content, so don't worry about a PG-13 movie being too violent.

Shooting in Vietnam? Ah. I'm guessing they're going to employ some Vietnamese locals for extras?
As for Aang being "selfish"... Ooookie. That does have me worry there a little like the rest of you guys. "Wanting to run away from your destiny" may seem a little selfish but he didn't mean it in a bad way. O.o
