www.thelastairbendercasting.com/index.phpIf this has been posted already, I'm sorry. But I just found this, so I wanted to share. Looks like they're going to have an open audition for Aang! No other characters are listed on the site, though. There's an audition script as well- hopefully it's for audition purposes only, as it slightly veers off course with the story (also notice the misspelling of Roku's name). In any case, I thought it would be an interesting tidbit to share with you all. And... no prior acting experience is expected or required of the kids that audition, so I guess that we'll be seeing some fresh faces. EDIT: It also seems like they're increasing the age range for Aang:

Anyone online can submit something? I wonder how many they'll get that aren't sad attempts at trying to become famous.

I was hoping that Zach Tyler Eisen would star...he the right age and height for what Aang look in a somewhat action live setting.
still don't mind.

Open casting for the LEAD role? Ugh,...that makes my stomach sick. Hmm... how many 12-15 year old male actors with an aptitude for martial arts do you know? But I do hope they know what they're doing.

But I do hope they know what they're doing. First you don't need acting experience. And I do know some kids taking martial arts or at least have an "aptitude" for it. A lot of kids take martial arts these days. I can understand that they want a fresh face but having such low standards for such an important role I think is just gonna ruin a lot of things like the tone and authentic fighting choreograpghy. Haha, they want a caucasian kid.

Haha, they want a caucasian kid. Yes, that's why they're doing an open casting. First off there aren't that many actors in that age group, nor can they all do martial arts. They just might be able to find exactly what they're looking for this way. Yes, it's a lead role, but it has a lot of requirements. I'm sure they won't choose the first person they see.

I would feel more confident if Mike and Bryan had a say in the casting process. I just hope that whoever gets the part knows it and deserves it, and if M & B are fine with him, then I'll be as well. After all, it's the animation Aang that will always be natural to us, and if the creators of the character approve of the person playing the role, then I guess that means we'll have to accept it as it is, even if we don't like the idea of an open casting. After all, in my opinion, it's so much better than just taking a popular Nick or Disney tween and putting them in Aang's role just to attract viewers.

I thought they had already cast Aang as a 17-year-old Aussie?
