i have wonder this for a while but i don't think fire is the most destructive element. most frequent yes, but not most destructive. it would take a fire 3 to 4 days to burn down a tree but only like 2 seconds for a tornado(air, wind) to rip it out of the ground and throw it half way cross Texas!! think about the natural disasters we have and make you choose.

Well one thing is, hurricanes/tornadoes are giant versions.
think of giant spinning cyclones of fire, or raining fire.

This question is nigh on impossible to answer...they can all be pretty destructive. How about in combination?

If you look to bending I put my vote on fire. Remember combustion man? his technique will blow a tree sky high But you're right. Tornado's are pretty powerfull. Unfortunately i've seen no bender make such a powerfull tornado that could wipe out cities. If you look to weather conditions in reallife i'll go probebly for water. The sea has the power to destroy anything. When it breaks through our defences only destruction awaits.

What about earthquake? I never experianced one, but I know they do a whole lot of damage in such a short amount of time.
And water, tsunamis no? Wasn't thee a big disaster somewhere.
Wind could be hurricanes, but hurricanes bring up water so......
And fire well its quite obvious.

in my believes i think that each four element has its equal destructive sides but fire is the one that shows up the most.

Well, it depends on what extent you mean fire to be. If you just mean wild fire, then it won't even be able to match the devestation of a tornado or a tsunami or an earthquake, but if you mean a volcanic eruption...
Pompeii, anyone?

So would the earthbenders be able to bend the lava?

So would the earthbenders be able to bend the lava? The only one i've seen bending lava was Avatar Roku but i suppose avatars don't count Firelord Sozin Did some bending during the vulcanic eruption scenes in the avatar and the firelord. It looked like he was bending the heat within the lava rather then the molten rock. Can't think of any other occasions where i've seen bending and lava at the same time.
