Honestly, why do we need them? Anyways, from what I've seen, some Zutarian shippers were planning to do an animated remake of the Avatar Season Finale where Zuko admits he loves...Katara? \ Please bear in mind I'm not a shipper, and I personally don't care (also I fear the Will of Mike and Bryan). But here is Dante Basco apparently reading the lines, Though I can't confirm it's really Dante, I'll just go with it. And you can read more www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1184905.html(I got this from a pretty good friend of mine). Feh, why do you people bother? Just let people do what they do that makes them happy (without hurting others), is what I'd say. I mean, even if they remake it, it's not like it changes your view on Avatar or what happened during the Finale. Well, respond people!

No that is not him reading the lines of a Zutara remake. It is him reading a greeting to Capslock_Zutara that was written by a member of capslock. It is capslock humor so many don't get it.
He has agreed to read the part in the fan project so that is cool but whatever. It is just fans celebrating their ship and since Dante is a Zutara fan he's all for it.
Not all Zutarians are behind it but I cannot wait to see it. I love Zutara fanart and that is what this project is.

Dante is a Zutara fan? No wonder Mike and Bryan didn't ask him about it in The Southern Raiders commentray...
I guess the show's made me something of an anti-shipper...but if these people want to go to all that trouble, I say let them...they're not hurting anyone...and they're not forcing anyone to watch it.

According to this site's polls, at least, they;re in the minority. I hope the powers that be don't take this as a sign the majority of the fandom approves of this wank and decide to change things in the movies or something.
If it's an animated project by amateurs with no studio who aren't just going to rehash and record over clips from the actual show (because anybody can and does do that), it couldn't be complete for, what, years anyway? Why don't they just give it up, take a rest, and go watch American Dragon: Jake Long? They certainly don't need enablers feeding the insanity.

That is what the girl who brought Dante into the project says. They are myspace acquaintances/friends.
Jillrg, Many Zutara fans have been left this forum and Avatar forums so reading polls from here is grossly inaccurate. If the powers that be spend time worrying about what a group of shippers do and then getting offended by it, then I wonder about their sanity. It is only fanart; Zutarians who have the talent to do such a thing making a ending for some who can't.
They aren't doing the whole finale. Just a scene or two. It is a huge project that I would not underestimate. It pulled in Dante.

I just see it as a different form of fan-creation...like the art and the fics...it won't have an effect on the movies storylines...they won't change them to end with Zutara. At most they'll tone down the romance...and that might just get me to watch. As it stands I have absolutely no interest in the movies.

That's the point. What's everyone getting so upset about? Some Kataangers apparently starting growling at the leader of this little project with mutterings of getting it banned for copyright infringement (though they are working on a project that would suffice as such as well), and then the Zutarian girl, bluetarako, fired back quit scathingly. I ended up rolling my eyes. Pretty much feeding the fire.
We just need to face it. About 10% of Kataangs and about 10% of Zutarians are the "You-see-my-view-or-I-hate-you" types. The rest of us just suffer. These 10% start the fights, the wars, the battles of words, and they start turning the fandoms against each other into some sort of riot.
Why can't we be friends? I don't get that. I really don't. I don't mind stating my honest opinion about Kataang, and I don't mind Kataangers stating their opinions about Zutara. Whether or not we like them, should it really effect how we see each other as people? It's quite sad. I wish our ships could be like Sukka and Tokka - they get along great.

Actually, I'm interested to see what they'll do, since Avatar is technically over, some new stuff might be a little refreshing/entertaining.
It's actually kind of nice to see the fans reacting to the finale by making their own, rather than complaining about it and hating teh series like immature brats.

Except you know, there is the option of simply creating a post finale fic/DJ since it's not as though the ships that became canon in the end are'nt the most rock-solid-OMG-SOUL-MATES relationships evar. (And even if they were... still not impossible.)
I'm just wondering why they're animating it... if it's not just rehashing scenes and it's actually animated it, it takes a lot of time and effort and, if they want to do this legally, for not pay. granted I've heard of fan projects similar to this (fanmade movies) but that was for Star Wars fandom and... that's a bit different there.
While I understand the appeal of doing this, especially with Basco lending his voice and all, but really. A DJ (anthology?) makes so much more sense and incorporates the same sort of fandom people.

Has anyone involved in this supposed project come forward and explained how they plan to "animate" it? It has to be more than one or two scenes, I would think. What's the point in that? That's no different than the myriad fan dubs all over the Internet. And you don't announce those are in the works; you just record them and upload them. I don't believe professional actors would get involved in one of those; wouldn't their agent demand compensation? If the powers that be spend time worrying about what a group of shippers do and then getting offended by it, then I wonder about their sanity. It just seems to me that the mentality of the media (the networks, not so much the writers) is to give the viewers what they want. No, it's not sane; it's business.

There ARE animators working on the project. They're not Avatar-worthy of course, they're amateurs, but they are working on it.

The whole thing really doesn't bother me, and I'm a Kataang shipper. I actually think it's cool that so many people are coming together for a project like this. And I agree with whoever said it's better than people just complaining about the real ending.
Plus it's funny that Dante is on board. Not funny in a vindictive way, funny in a "funny ol' world, innit?" way.
What does bug me is when people say that the real ending was like... out of character for anybody. It's kind of impossible for that to be true, considering it was, you know... written by the writers. Of the show. But as far as I know nobody has been saying that in this instance, they're just doing things their own way for the fun of it.
I am also curious as to the animation aspect, though. I figure it'll just be a flash or something, since that's the most common form of amateur animation.

I didn't think the finale was wildly out of character, just a tad out of place. It was a bit confusing to me how everything ended, but I was okay with it. Just because I disliked the Epilogue of Harry Potter doesn't mean I hate the books, and it goes the same with Avatar. I like things like this because, well, it brings the fandoms together. I love to see people work together.

Wars bring people "together," but not in a good way. Maybe we'd all be better off without Inetrnet fandoms, at the very least less bitter and more sane... Nope, even Louisa May Alcott hated the shipping in the Little Women fandom.

Well, it's going to happen, no matter what. I just wish we could be in a bit more harmony over it. I think DH (though it went through major shipping wars in it's earlier years) is actually a bit more neutral than other sites like deviantart and Livejournal (where I think a LOT of the shipping wars get really awful). I almost always want to sing "Why can't we be friends," when people start to argue.
